Most countries need to get a visa before entering Cambodia as the Cambodian Government has only given free access to 8 nationalities. These countries are Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Still, you don’t need to worry about anything! According to the Cambodia visa policy, 220 countries can apply online for an electronic visa or eVisa to visit Cambodia. You only need to connect to the Internet and complete a simple application form, so you can have the eVisa as soon as you expected. Take into consideration that this type of visa is only available for tourists, and you can have a maximum stay of 30 days in this country.

Some nationalities have the chance to have a visa on arrival in Cambodia. However, you will need to do a procedure as soon as you land in the country. Only 10 countries have the opportunity to have this type of visa. These nationalities are Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Myanmar, and Nigeria.

Less than 10 nationalities will need to apply for a visa to Cambodia through an embassy or consulate. These countries are the Aland Islands, Christmas Islands, Cocos Islands, French Guiana, French Polynesia, Isle of Man, Saint Barthelemy, and Sint Maarten.

Tourist Visa Policy for Cambodia

If you want to enjoy your next holiday in Cambodia, you must acquire a tourist visa for a smooth entry. The good news is that you have some very convenient alternatives.

First, you can go for the eVisa or electronic visa. This digital authorization is available for tourists who would like to visit Cambodia for tourism purposes. It allows a short stay in Cambodia, and you can do all the tourism activities you want. As the name states, the whole process is online. You don’t need to visit a Cambodian embassy to have the travel document. You will only need to complete an online form with personal details, and you will be good to go!

If your country isn’t eligible to get the eVisa, your nationality could be among the countries that can acquire the Cambodian visa on arrival. This visa is available for tourism and business reasons.

A few countries can’t have either of the two visas mentioned. These travelers will need to confirm their visa procedures at a Cambodian Embassy or Consulate.

eVisa for Cambodia

The Cambodia visa policy states that most nationalities can apply for the eVisa to have a smooth entry to Cambodia. Since 2006, the Cambodian Government has implemented this digital procedure in order to simplify the visa process for tourists. The requirements are the following:

  • Applicant photo
  • A scan of your passport details. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your day of entry to Cambodia.

The eVisa is valid for 90 days after issued, and you can stay a maximum of 30 days in Cambodia and have a single entry.

Remember that you must complete an online with personal details. Once you have the eVisa with you, we recommend having two copies. Besides, the eVisa is only accepted in these ports of entry: Phnom Penh International Airport, Siem Reap International Airport, Poi Pet (Banteay Meanchey), Bavet (Svay Rieng), Cham Yeam (Koh Kong), Tropaeng Kreal Border Post (Stung Treng) and Sihanoukville International Airport.

Visa on arrival for Cambodia

Following the instructions of the Cambodia visa policy, we can confirm some nationalities can have a visa on arrival for tourism and business purposes.
