The citizens of Sweden who plan to travel to Canada for a short stay are not required to apply for a Canada visa. Nevertheless, you must obtain a Canada ETA before your departure if you go there by air. iVisa can facilitate the application process. As a result, you can have your travel document ready in just 30 minutes.

Canada Visa for the citizens of Sweden – the requirements

In order to apply for a Canada ETA, you have to meet a few requirements. However, you will be pleased to learn that your effort is limited. You do not need much, and what is necessary for the application process is easy to acquire. You must put together the following:

  • Passport – all applicants who wish to obtain a Canada ETA must be passport holders. However, before you apply, check your passport’s expiry date because it needs to maintain its validity for at least another 6 months from the date of arrival in Canada.
  • E-mail address – while the Canada ETA is electronically linked to your passport, you will receive a copy of the authorization via e-mail in PDF format. You are not required to have a physical copy on you, but you can still print one out just in case you need it.
  • Means of payment – during the online application process, you will be required to make the payment. iVisa is versatile as far as paying for its services goes, which is why you can use a credit or debit card, but PayPal, Alipay, and WeChat are also valid methods of payment. You can use the one that is most convenient for you.

Canada Visa for the citizens of Sweden – the online application form

When you believe yourself ready, you can access the application page and proceed to fill in the online form. You should not experience any difficulties along the way, but if you need some help, you can reach iVisa’ customer support service via online chat or phone. It is available 24/7 and entirely free of charge.

As soon as you access the application page, you will notice how the form is divided into three steps. That should make things easier for you. The first step asks for general information, but it also requires you to make a choice as far as the processing time is concerned. You are granted three options, and they all have different fees. You can opt for one of the following:

  • Standard processing – this is the slowest and cheapest option you are given by iVisa. Your application is processed in 24 hours, but you only have to pay $19.50 for your ETA.
  • Rush processing – if you are looking for a faster option, then you should go for this one. Your Canada ETA is ready within 2 hours since your request is submitted, and the cost is $49.50.
  • Super Rush processing – since this is the fastest option at hand, it is the most expensive. You are charged $69.50, but your application is processed within only 30 minutes.

The second step wants you to handle the payment and review your form to make sure that the provided information is 100% correct. If it is not, correct your mistakes. Otherwise, your ETA will be invalid. The third step requires that you upload the documentation that supports your application. Once you are done, submit your request, and iVisa will take it from there. All you can do at this point is to wait.

The bottom line is that as a Swedish citizen, you do not need a Canada visa per se. But for short stays, you are required to obtain a Canada ETA before you leave. The travel authorization is valid for 5 years since issue or until your passport expires, whichever happens first. In that period, you can go to Canada as many times as you want and you can stay there for no more than 6 months per entry.
