Can I enter China anywhere with the visa?

You can enter China anywhere except for some caravans entering through the desert.

Any restrictions for citizens from African or Middle Eastern Countries?

The Chinese Ministry of Public Security makes a decision based on a case by case basis whether or not you will be granted a visa to China or not.

That being said, certain countries have been identified as being associated with terrorist activities - those country citizens might be denied a visa to enter China. Thus people born in the African and Middle Eastern countries might expect delays or face denied applications.

This restriction will be applied to all visas released by the Embassy, the Consulate and the Ministry of public security itself. They reserve the right to refuse the visa to people born in country reported to be at high terror risk.

If I fly to Hong Kong and take a bus/car/train to mainland China, am I eligible for the Chinese Electronic Group Visas?

Yes. We do suggest however that you please contact our online staff so that we can verify any doubts regarding your visa application on a case by case basis.

I have my copies in black & white. Should my copies be in color or is acceptable in black and white?

All copies need to be in color. If you do not have a color printer then you need to have the copies taken somewhere else so that its in full color.

Can any one apply for the China Visa online?

No. At this stage only the following nationalities qualify to get the visa online:

Australia Austria Belgium Canada South Korea Denmark Finland France Germany Greece Ireland Iceland Italy Luxembourg Norway New Zealand Holland (The Netherlands) Portugal United Kingdom Spain United States of America (USA) Sweden Switzerland

If your country is not listed here then you have to apply through a Chinese Embassy near you to obtain the correct type of Visa.

I do not have a credit card, how can I pay for the visa?

You can pay with a Credit or Debit Card that is; MasterCard, AMEX, Discovery, VISA.

You can also pay with your online Paypal account if preferred.

What is included in the online fee for the China visa?

The price that you pay online includes the following:

  • The China Visa Embassy fee
  • Our Service Fee
  • International shipping with FedEx

Are there other documents that I have to submit or take with me to China?

You will only need to have your vlid passport and the visa.

On arrival all foreign visitors need to fill out a customs declarations form that can be obtained on arrival at the airport or on the plane if the airlines has copies. See below an example.

What are the Chinese Holidays in 2017?

2017 Chinese Public Holidays

  • New Year: January 02, 2017.
  • Spring Festival, or Lunar New Year: January 27, 2017 to February 02, 2017.
  • QingMing Festival: April 03-04, 2017
  • Labor Day: May 01, 2017.
  • Dragon Boat Festival: May 29-30, 2017.

How long is my China Group Visa valid for?

Your visa will be valid for a maximum of 15 days, thus you can stay 15 days inside China.

NOTE: You will receive your visa 2 weeks prior to your arrival to China.

How long will it take to receive my China Group Visa in the mail/post?

You need to understand how the China Visa application works first.

One, you apply online for your visa. Two, the visa will be approved by the Chinese Government. Three, after the visa is approved the Chinese Government, will mail your visa with FedEx to you wherever you are in the world.

Its is also important to understand that you need to apply for the visa at least 17 days BEFORE your scheduled departure date to avoid delays / unnecessary stress in case the government requests additional information.

There are 3 delivery methods that you can choose from when you apply online:

  • 10 Business Days (Standard delivery)
  • 6 Business Days (Rush delivery + additional fee)
  • 2 Business Days /Super Rush delivery + additional fee)

You will receive your visa in the mail around fifteen (15) days (2 weeks) before your arrival date to China.

Meaning that if you plan to travel to China on the 1st of January and you chose standard delivery (10 days) then you have to apply no later than the 5th of December for your visa to arrive approx.15 days before your departure.

  • It takes approx. 3 business days for your visa to be approved and
  • another 3 days for international shipping from China with FedEx so you need to calculate that into your application time line.

NOTE: BUT even if the visa is requested long time in advance, the system will process it since it will only issue the visa in such a way that it will only arrive around 15 days before the departure, NOT EARLIER!.

How will I receive my China Group Visa?

After your visa application is approved by the Chinese Port Visa Division - Ministry of Public Security, your tourist visa will be mailed/posted visa FedEx (International courier).

TIP: Make sure you enter your postal address correctly as a mistake can result in a delayed visa - NO REFUNDS!

What do I need to apply for a China Visa Online?

All applicants applying will require the following documents:

  • A passport that is valid for at last 6 months after arriving to China
  • Photocopy of the applicant´s passport (Main Page with all biometric data, example, your name, surname, DOB, Passport number , photo etc)
  • Return Airline ticket
  • Reason for Travel Statement (Individual Visa Application Only - Business)
  • Copy of hotel reservation/invitation letter from the host
  • Credit/Debit Card, Paypal Account to pay for the visa online

What should I do on arrival if I have the China Individual visa - arrival Shanghai?

Alt Text Step 1 Once you arrive at the airport of "Shanghai - Pudong International Airport or Hongqiao International Airport", you will find a Visa ATM "VISA ON ARRIVAL".

You have to go and stand in that line.

Step 2 There you will present the following documents:

  • Valid Passport
  • Color Printed Official Notification of the Visa - See example here.
  • Completed form for Visa on arrival filled

Step 3 You will then receive your visa on arrival in your passport - make sure you have 2 blank pages open in your passport.

NOTE: This is ONLY applicable to travelers with the China Individual Visa also known as the Official Notification of Visa.

What does the China Individual Visa look like?

The China Individual Visa is also better known as the Official Notification of Visa / Visa on Arrival. See example below:

What is the China Individual Visa?

The China Individual Visa can ONLY be used for entry at:

Shanghai - Pudong International Airport, or Hongqiao International Airport.

You can leave the country at any border post but entry is restricted with this type of visa.

The Individual Visa can only be used for the following purposes:

  • Business meeting
  • Participation in fairs and events
  • Business Marketing
  • Research and Development
  • Business Negotiation

If you wish to travel to China for tourism then you have to apply for the China Group Visa.

After approval the visa will be sent to you by the Ministry of Public Security in the format known as the Official Notification of the Visa. You will receive this notification visa email. You then print this letter (in color) and take it with you when you travel to China to show it at the Check-In desk at the time of departure.

The Official Notification of the Visa must be used within 30 days from the date of issuance. Once you arrive at the airport of "Shanghai - Pudong International Airport or Hongqiao International Airport", you will find a Visa ATM "VISA ON ARRIVAL". There you will present your passport, the printed Official Notification of the Visa, the form for Visa on arrival filled and a passport photo. You will then receive your visa on arrival - make sure you have 2 blank pages open in your passport.

What does the China Group Visa look like?

Your visa will be mailed to you through the international shipping company FedEx.

What is the China Tourist Group Visa?

If you wish to travel to China as a tourist, then you can apply online for the China Group Visa.

The good news is that today you can apply without visiting a Chinese Embassy to do so. You simply https://www.ivisa.com/apply-online/china, and the Chinese Government will send you your Visa Letter to your home.

The China Group Visa is a type of visa that is issued to a group composed of at least two members.

Only one (1) visa document will be sent to the group thus the group of people have to enter and exit China together!

Example, if you are 3 friends/family members traveling to China then you will all apply together for the China Group Visa and all 3 traveler´s details will appear on the same Visa letter. You will then take this copy with you when you travel - BUT the 3 candidates HAVE to arrive to China together with this type of visa.

Note that this eVisa replaces the old traditional visa sticker that you would get in your passport, now you get an approval letter after your visa application and entry into China was approved.
