Cuba visa for the citizens of Mexico – the requirements

The Cuba visa has a set of simple requirements. They are easy to meet, and you should have no issues in checking things off the list. The first thing you need is a passport. After that, you just fill in an application form, and iVisa will handle the rest. However, when you get to Cuba, you will be asked to present the following documents:

  • Valid passport – the passport you have needs to maintain its validity for at least another 6 months from the date of arrival in Cuba. If it does not, you need to get a new one.

  • Tourist Card – the document that iVisa will send to you via postal mail.

  • A flight itinerary both to and from Cuba.

  • Travel insurance – this is a rule that began to take effect back in 2010. If you do not have travel insurance, you have the option to purchase one once you arrive in Cuba.

Minors should also have their own Tourist Card because the Cuban government does not allow children to enter the country on their parents’ travel documents.

The application process

iVisa is aware that most people have trouble filling in government forms, which is why we created one of the simplest application processes you will ever have to deal with. All you need to do is complete a 2-step application form, and that is pretty much it.

  1. The first step will ask you to fill in some information about yourself and your trip. You must also select a visa type and a processing time at this point. The visa type is simple to establish because as a non-US applicant, your only option is the International Tourist Card. As far as the processing time goes, you can choose one of the three available options:

    • Standard processing – your application is processed, and your Tourist card arrives in 3 to 5 business days. This processing time costs $55.

    • Rush processing – your Tourist card arrives within 1 to 3 business days, and the cost is $75.

    • Super Rush processing – you will have your Cuba Tourist card in 1 business day, and you will be charged $95. The shipping is included in the price in all three cases.

  2. The second step consists of payment and revision. You can make the payment using one of the several means accepted by iVisa. You can pay using a credit/debit card or a Paypal account. Whichever you find more convenient. Also, do not forget to check the accuracy of all the information you provided so that you avoid re-doing the process. After you are done with step two, just submit your application and wait for the Tourist Card to arrive in the timeframe you selected.

The conclusion is that a Cuban visa for the citizens of Mexico is now more accessible than ever. iVisa will spare you all the efforts of going to an embassy, and your only job is to fill in a form. It does not get any easier than that. The Cuba Tourist Card grants you a single entry, and you can stay in Cuba for 30 days. However, you can apply for a 30-day extension once you are inside the country.
