I'm a Norwegian citizen, Do I need a visa to enter Egypt?

Yes, Norwegian citizens belong to the EU, so if you have this nationality, you need a visa to enter Egypt just as any other countrie from this group. But a good thing is that you only require an electronic visa.

What is an Egypt e-Visa for Norwegians?

The Egyptian government published an e-Visa system in 2017 that allows foreigner citizens to visit the country with an online process. That's the e-Visa or electronic visa to Egypt, and that works quite well for foreigner travelers.

How long can Norwegians stay in Egypt with an e-Visa?

While you have your Norwegian passport and your Egypt e-Visa, you can stay in Egypt for 30 days Total.

What do you need?

While iVisa designed a straightforward process, you still need to provide a few pieces of information. However, you should have an easy time getting all of them. Here is a list of everything you need:

  • A valid passport – if you do not have a passport, you can get one quite easy. If you have one, don't forget to make sure that it is valid and will remain as such at least for another six months from your date of arrival in Egypt's airport. Otherwise, your visa application will be denied.

  • A scan of the information page of your passport – you will be required to upload it in step three of the application form.

  • Means of payment – since you are required to make the payment before you complete your application (step two of the application,) you need to have a credit or debit card ready. If you have a Paypal account, you should know that iVisa accepts that as well.

  • A valid e-mail address – iVisa will send you both the verification and also the document via e-mail, which means that there is no room for error when you fill in the application. If you fail to type in the correct address, you will not receive your visa, which is most unfortunate because you have to go through the application process again. Double-check the spelling before you submit your application, and you should be fine.

How long is the Egypt e-Visa valid for?

What are the processing times and fees?

Keep in mind that the cost of the visa is one thing, while the total price is another. The total price of the visa includes iVisa's fees. For the processing times, you are given three options with iVisa:

  • Standard – when you choose this option, your Egypt e-visa will arrive via e-mail in at least 6 business days. This is the least expensive processing time you have at hand. It only costs USD 55.00. $25 is the price of the visa itself, and the other half goes to iVisa as a service fee.

  • Rush – this option will shorten the application processing time by one day. Your application will be processed within 4 business days, and you will be charged USD 85.00.

  • Super Rush – if you have an emergency and need to be on a plane to Egypt as fast as possible, this is the best method for you. Your application will be processed within 2 business days. As you may have guessed, the price goes higher as well. You will be charged USD 120.00.

Remember that this price goes for a single-entry visa, there's a small difference when choosing a multiple-entry one.

How much time do I need to apply for this e-Visa?

Not as much time as other processes, with 15 minutes you're probably ready.

How is the application form for Norwegian citizens?

iVisa designed a simple application form, and it should take you about 20 minutes to complete. It only has three simple steps, which are the following:

  1. The first one will ask you to insert your personal information. You must also choose a processing time and a visa type. The visa type is related to how many entries you are allowed on a single visa. For the single-entry visa, the fees are mentioned above, and the multiple-entry visa costs an extra $35.

  2. The second step consists of payment and revision, which is something very important when applying.

  3. And the last step will ask you to complete a personal questionnaire, as well as to upload additional documents. Once you are done, you submit your application and then wait for your visa to arrive.

As you can see, getting an Egypt visa for Norwegian citizens could not be easier. The process is fast and straightforward, and iVisa provides assistance every step of the way.

Then you don't have to apply for a visa as long as your transit layover is less than 48 hours and, of course, you don't leave the transit area inappropriately.

Also, keep in mind that you may leave the airport but you will have to hand over your passport in case you have a long layover, as long as this doesn't exceed 48 hours.

If your transit time is less than 6 hours, you can leave the transit area, but not the airport.

This rule doesn't apply to nationals of Iran (who always require a transit visa), *Afghanistan, Lebanon, Palestine, and the Philippines, who must remain in the transit area at all times.

What are the requirements if I want to print the visa?
