To simplify the process of a visa application, the government of Gabon introduced an electronic visa (eVisa) service in 2015. This is supposed to ease the process of application and, thus, increase trade and tourism. As citizens of the European Union, Bulgarians are eligible to apply for a Gabonese eVisa.

Gabon

Applicants can now fill out the application and submit all of the necessary information and required documents on https://www.ivisa.com. Do not enter Gabon before you receive your Travel Authorization Receipt or before the date of arrival that you provide during the registration process, as you will be denied entry.

Required Documents

To obtain an eVisa, you need to complete an application with all of the following required documents:

  • A digital copy of your valid passport. Keep in mind that it has to be valid for at least 6 months after the day you are going to enter the country. There must be at least 2 blank pages in the passport, and the copy must include the information page.
  • A passport-sized digital photo that was taken in the last 6 months.
  • A residence permit will be required if the country you apply from differs from your country of origin. A visa sticker in your passport or a written document, such as a letter, will suffice.
  • Certificates verifying that you have received yellow fever and cholera vaccinations are mandatory. The following vaccinations are also recommended: typhoid, hepatitis (A and B), poliomyelitis, meningitis, measles-mumps-rubella (MMR), and diphtheria-tetanus-polio.
  • A valid email address. Your eVisa sticker and additional information regarding the application process will be sent there.

Application Process

The application process consists of three simple steps, and if you need help, you can always contact iVisa’s customer center for assistance. Filling out the form should take no more than 20 minutes. Let’s have a look at the process.

First, you have to provide all of your general information and choose what type of visa you want and the processing time. The type of visa determines the number of days you can spend in Gabon. You can get a tourist visa for a stay of one to six months and for single entry or multiple entries.

Processing options for an eVisa are as follows:

  • Standard: 7 business days; processing fee $15
  • Rush: 6 business days; processing fee $35
  • Super Rush: 4 business days; processing fee $55

Second, check that all of your personal information is correct, double-check the spelling of everything, and make your payment. iVisa accepts all major debit and credit cards and PayPal.

Finally, upload all of the required documents listed above.

Visa Fees for Gabon e-Visa

Payment is due upon arrival Leon Mba International Airport in Libreville. You can pay in euros or American dollars when you deliver your eVisa sticker. Gabon is largely a cash-based economy, so ensure that you have enough currency, as there is no guarantee that you will have access to money while inside the airport.

For a single entry up to 90 days: 70 EUR or 45,000 XAF + 15 EUR as file processing fee. Multiple entries up to 180 days: 185 EUR or 120,000 XAF + 15 EUR as file processing fee.

Additional Information

Gabon started a visa on arrival program in 2015 for all tourists who want to visit Gabon and arrive via Leon Mba International Airport in Libreville. For a visa on arrival, you can directly request and obtain a tourist visa at the airport by paying a cash fee. However, it is preferable to submit your visa request through the iVisa website so that you will be notified of every step of the process and avoid unpleasant inconveniences that might lead to your visa being denied.

Please be advised that the eVisa is only valid for entry into Gabon via the main airport, Leon Mba International Airport in Libreville. Entry via land, sea, or any other airport renders the visa invalid. When arriving in Gabon, it is mandatory to hold a copy of the eVisa and a copy of your hotel reservation.

Please note: the Bulgarian government cannot intervene in the event that you do not meet the visa entry or exit requirements. The Gabonese government reserves the authority and right of refusal to enter its territories without being obligated to provide reason(s).
