Do I need to provide a coronavirus test as a citizen of Canada?

All non-vaccinated arrivals over 10 years old must present a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test result, performed within 72 hours prior to arrival. Fully vaccinated travelers with a COVID-19 vaccine certificate are exempt from testing requirements.

Do I need a COVID vaccine or vaccination certificate to enter Guatemala?

No, you don't. As of today, COVID vaccination passports or certificates are not a mandatory to enter Guatemala. Now if you are a Covid vaccine certificate holder, you won't need to present a negative PCR test nor to follow a quarantine. Since information may change quickly, we advise you to follow up on the latest Guatemala travel updates and/or contact your local embassy.

Will I need to quarantine when I arrive in Guatemala?

If you fail to present a negative PCR test or vaccine certificate, you must comply with a mandatory test and quarantine on arrival. Please be aware that travelers who have visited Brazil, the UK or South Africa within the last 14 days will not be permitted to visit Guatemala. Only Guatemalan nationals, diplomats or foreign nationals who are legal residents in the country can enter and they need to quarantine for 10 days (regardless of their vaccination status).
