Do citizens of Israel need a Hungary ETIAS?

Israeli nationals currently have the privilege of visa-free access to the Schengen Zone, EFTA countries, and the European microstates, as well as to Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Romania.

From mid-2025, however, Israelis will have to apply for the Hungary ETIAS for short-term stays of up to 90 days when visiting Hungary, whether it's for leisure, business, passing through, or medical reasons.

Introduced to the public in 2016, the European Travel Information Authorisation System aims to enhance security within the Schengen Area. Before the ETIAS, travelers from visa-exempt countries could enter Europe with only a passport, providing limited information on visitors. The ETIAS system allows for more thorough pre-travel screening.

It is important to note that ETIAS is not a visa. It will work in a very similar way to pre-travel checks already in place in other countries, like the US ESTA and the Canada eTA.

One notable benefit of the Hungary ETIAS is that it opens up the possibility to explore all countries that will implement the ETIAS requirement. If you're mapping out your European journey, take a moment to look at the extensive list of destinations your ETIAS will enable you to visit on the map below:

How to get a Hungary ETIAS from Israel with us

When it becomes available, applying for your Hungary ETIAS from Israel will be a smooth process with our service. Our platform offers an efficient and easy-to-follow method, distinguishing itself among other options out there.

Here's how you can apply once the system goes live:

  • Step 1 - Fill out the form with your basic personal details and travel information on our website or mobile app. Choose your processing time and complete the payment.

  • Step 2 - Complete the rest of the ETIAS application form and upload all the required documents.

  • Step 3 - Submit the form and wait for the confirmation email.

Once you receive the ETIAS, we recommend printing a physical copy and keeping a digital version on your phone. This will make your journey through airport and border control easier.
