Traveling is an adventure filled with exciting possibilities, but sometimes, the journey can get bumpy, especially when dealing with visa applications. The Indian e-Visa payment process, for instance, is notorious for issues that can leave travelers frustrated. This blog post will shed light on these common problems and provide you with solutions to navigate through them.

Don't forget, for a safe application, you can apply for your India Visa directly with the Indian Government, or choose to use our Indian Visa services.

India e-Visa payment issues

Credit or debit card issues

One common issue travelers encounter is a problem with their credit or debit card. This could be due to an expired card or a card that has reached its credit limit. Before you attempt to pay, ensure your card is valid, has sufficient funds, and that the information you've entered matches the card details.

PayPal payment problems

PayPal is another payment option for the Indian e-Visa, but it has its issues. Sometimes, a payment rejection may occur if the card issuer's country selected is incorrect. Always double-check the details before you proceed with payment.

Security issues

The Indian e-Visa payment platform uses an older security technology known as 3D Secure, which most US institutions no longer employ. This discrepancy can result in payment rejection, as the website might need to recognize your bank's security protocols.

Webpage issues

A technical problem is the payment page not loading correctly or a message stating the payment has not been received. This can be particularly frustrating, as you're left unsure about the status of your application.

Solutions to India e-Visa payment problems

Use our website to apply

iVisa is a platform that simplifies the e-Visa application process and offers a variety of payment methods, including credit cards, debit cards, and mobile wallets. It's worth considering if you're having trouble with the official portal.

Try Using a smaller bank

Interestingly, smaller banks may still use the 3D Secure technology the Indian e-Visa portal requires. If you're having trouble with a larger bank, try a smaller one.

Call your bank

Your bank might reject the transaction if it suspects fraud or scam. Contacting your bank to clarify the situation can help. Inform them about your intent to make a foreign payment and ask them to authorize it.

Use a PayPal account

Several travelers have reported success when paying for their Indian e-Visa through PayPal. If you have a PayPal account, it's worth trying this method.

Get someone else to pay the visa fee for you

This method can be tricky, but if you have a trusted friend or family member in another country, they might be able to help. However, be cautious when sharing sensitive banking information.

Do some research

Google is a treasure trove of information. If you've tried all the above methods and nothing seems to work, it's time to do some research. Chances are, someone else has encountered the same problem and has shared their solution online.

Please note that if your payment attempt fails more than three times, the website will block your application, and you'll have to complete the visa application again. Therefore, consider each step carefully before proceeding with the payment process.

Remember, travel hassles are just temporary hurdles. With a bit of patience and the right resources, you'll succeed!
