Frequently Asked Questions

Many foreign nationals require a visa to enter Indonesia. Depending on their nationality and purpose of visit, this would be a Visa on Arrival (VoA), an eVisa, or an Embassy visa. Citizens from select countries may be visa-exempt for short stays under specific conditions.
Indonesia's eVOA (Electronic visa on arrival) is an electronic version of the Visa on Arrival, allowing eligible travelers to apply and receive their visa online before traveling. It is valid for tourism, business, or transit and typically grants a stay of up to 30 days.
Citizens of over 90 countries, including travelers from the United States, Australia, India, the United Kingdom, and EU countries, are eligible for the Indonesia eVOA. Indonesia’s Directorate General of Immigration publishes the full list of eligible nationalities.
The eVOA is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance and allows a single-entry stay of up to 30 days in Indonesia. It can be extended once for 30 days through Indonesian immigration services.

Applicants must have:

  • Passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry
  • Return or onward ticket
  • Valid payment method

Depending on the applicant’s nationality, additional documentation may be required.

Yes. The eVOA is applied for and approved online before travel, while the traditional Indonesian VoA is issued upon arrival at an Indonesian entry port. Both offer similar stay durations and can be extended once.
Travelers can apply online. The process involves filling out an online form, uploading documents, and making an online payment.
