Visa Policy for Iraq ‌

An Iraq visa policy allows you to make a planned trip to Iraq a reality. For temporary reasons (such as tourism, business, culture, religion, and others), foreign nationals may apply for short-term Iraq visas. It is also possible to extend the visa or apply for an Iraq residency permit if you are planning to stay longer in Iraq for any reason (education, work, etc.).

Most nations require their citizens to obtain visas to visit Iraq according to Iraqi law. Visitor visas are granted at selected airports to visitors from certain countries. Countries with visa bans are also permitted to enter Iraq as per Iraq visa policy.

From the 15th of March 2021, the Iraqi government removed the requirement for pre-arrival visas for citizens from 37 countries, allowing these citizens to fill out visa applications on arrival at authorized ports of entry.

Government officials from these countries are required under Iraqi law to comply with all preventive health measures, according to a statement from the Iraqi High Committee for Health and National Safety. Iraq visa policy banned Iranians from entering the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, all travelers should be tested 48 hours before arrival for Covid-19 and have documentation of their results with them. Keep on reading for more detailed information about the Iraq visa policy.

Tourist Visa Policy for Iraq ‌

The holder of a tourist visa may enter Iraq only once within three months and stay for one month in order to visit sights of tourist and archaeological interest. A Visa allows the holder to visit Iraq for religious reasons once within a month of receiving the grant and to stay for one month, regardless of whether it is for religious events or holy sites.

In addition to the public and political figures, businessmen and investors, and the people interested in visiting Iraq, according to the ambassadors and the chargé d'affaires, a 30-day visa is available. A tourist group request is handled by the Mission's tourism companies working in coordination with an Iraqi tourism company.

If you wish to visit Iraq temporarily, you can apply for an Iraq Short-term visa. This type of visa can be obtained for a variety of reasons, such as tourism, visiting family or friends, business trips, short-term education, short-term employment, and many other non-permanent reasons. It is possible to obtain a short-term visa with single or multiple entries as per the Iraq visa policy.

In some cases, it may not be possible to extend an expired visa, but it may be necessary to obtain new visa approval. In exceptional cases, such as border closures, passport centers, and border residences, it will explain the situation of the visa and allow them to enter without an extension or to apply for a new approval, but not more than seven days after the reopening of the border. As you see, the Iraq visa policy is flexible as per the situation.

You will apply for your Iraq visiting or tourism visa at the Iraq visa application center, the Iraqi embassy, or the Iraqi consulate, whichever accepts visa applications in your country of residence. In the absence of such a facility in your country, you must apply to the nearest embassy or consulate. Continue reading for more details about the Iraq visa policy.
