If you are trying to reach a destination connecting through Kenya, you need to obtain a Kenya Transit visa if the time you spend there does not exceed 72 hours. However, you do not need to apply for one if you do not leave the airport. It is important to know that you cannot get your transit visa in Kenya at the airport. Instead, iVisa will be able to help you get it online.

Kenya

What are the requirements?

In order to obtain a Kenya Transit visa, you do not need to meet a lot of requirements. iVisa will try to simplify the process for you so that you only provide the basics. Here is what you must be able to provide:

  • Passport – all applicants must hold a valid passport. Also, the document needs to maintain its validity for at least another 6 months from the date of arrival in Kenya. Ensure that the passport has at least one blank page.
  • Photo – make sure that the picture is as recent as possible, preferably taken in the last 6 months.
  • Onward ticket – this proves that you are just connecting through Kenya.
  • E-mail address – since iVisa will send you the Kenya Transit visa via e-mail, you need to provide us with an address which you have access to.
  • Means of payment – the payment must be made online, but iVisa accepts multiple methods. Credit or debit cards are accepted, but feel free to use PayPal, Alipay, or WeChat.

The online application form

When the Kenya Transit visa becomes available, you will be able to enjoy a smooth application process. Our application form will be short and simple so that you can get over it as fast as possible. Plus, our customer support will be able to answer any questions you may have 24/7.

The online form will consist of three simple steps. The first one will ask for your personal information such as name, address, phone number, passport info, and so on. It will also require you to select a processing time for your application, and you need to remember that your choice dictates the cost of your Kenya Transit visa.

iVisa usually provides three options: Standard, Rush, and Super Rush. However, since the visa is not live yet, we cannot tell you just how fast the processing goes and how much every option costs. Nevertheless, what we can tell you is that our purpose is to deliver as soon as possible at affordable prices.

As for the second step, this is the moment when you will be asked to make the payment and revise your application form. It is imperative that your form does not contain any errors because your Kenya Transit visa will become invalid otherwise. Make sure to carefully read your form before submission.

Lastly, the third step will require you to upload supporting documents. For example, iVisa will ask you to upload a scan of your passport’s information page. Once you are done with that, you are free to submit your form.

So, to answer your question, you may not be able to get a transit visa in Kenya at the airport, but the online application process is much easier. You can apply from home, day or night, and iVisa is of tremendous help. Once the visa goes live, you will be able to apply in just 20 minutes.
