Visa Policy for Kuwait

Kuwait maintains a visa policy that defines all requirements, rules, and regulations for foreign nationals traveling to Kuwait. To travel to Kuwait and enter the country, almost all nationalities require a visa. According to the Kuwait visa policy, you may be eligible for an electronic visa,or a visa on arrival, depending on your nationality and the purpose and length of your visit.

Fill me in

Kuwait visa policy offers electronic visa applications for around 170 countries around the world. When accepted, it is sent to the applicant through email after completing a quick online application.

Around 65 other countries are ineligible for eVisas and must apply for visas at the Kuwaiti government's diplomatic mission in the country before departing in person. Kuwait allows visitors from certain countries to apply for a visa upon arrival at checkpoints at border crossings. However, this will usually mean waiting in the immigration queue for a long time. It is therefore recommended that travelers apply for and obtain their eVisas before departing via the online application if available in their country, as this will greatly speed up the process. Kuwait visa policy requires all visitors to possess a passport valid for 6 months, with the exception of other GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) nations.

Tourist Visa Policy for Kuwait

Kuwait visa policy offers three methods of visa issuance to tourists from foreign countries: visas, visas on arrival and electronic visas through an internet application.

An estimated 170 nationalities from all over the world are eligible to apply for the tourist eVisa online and to have an approved electronic visa emailed directly to them. Holders of an eVisa will be able to travel to Kuwait and enter the country for a maximum of 90 days for tourism, whether they arrive by air, land, or sea.

Kuwait visa policy requires tourists from countries that are not eligible for eVisas to apply for visas before departure. The application form for this visa type usually requires the embassy to ask for some additional documents, in addition to the visa application.

The citizens of one country (Swaziland) are also required to apply for a visa on arrival at Kuwait Airport, but this means waiting in long lines at the border control to submit the application. Continue reading this article for more details about the Kuwait visa policy.

Kuwait EVISA

An electronic visa (eVisa) is now available to citizens of around 170 nations across the globe via an online application form, introduced by the Kuwaiti government in 2016. For those arriving by air, sea, or land, the Kuwait eVisa is a single entry visa for 90 days of stay in Kuwait for tourism purposes.

Those wishing to apply online must fill out a simple form with personal, passport, and travel information. An image of the traveler's passport biographical page is also required when applying for an eVisa for Kuwait. At least six months must elapse from the date of the intended arrival in Kuwait on the passport used for application.

If approved, the eVisa will be electronically linked with the holder's passport and he or she will be allowed to enter Kuwait for 30 days following issuance. Kuwait visas are usually processed within one to three business days through online services.

To enter Kuwait, citizens of eVisa countries will need to obtain the appropriate type of visa if they intend to spend more time in Kuwait or wish to go there for business or to work or study. Find below a complete list of the countries that need to apply for an eVisa to travel to Kuwait.
