iVisa.com Recommends

One of the most pleasant destinations to visit in the country is the region of Quthing. This magical place has several tourist attractions, incredible hotels, highly ranked restaurants, and unique paths that one can take to walk in the day or at night.

One of the places we recommend you visit when you are there is the Casa Museo de la Cueva de Masitise. Located five kilometers west of the city, this old mansion. It was built as a shelter in 1866 by David-Frédéric Ellenberger, a former Swiss missionary who was one of the first to arrive in the country.

This wonderful mansion is quite an enigma, from the mold of a dinosaur footprint on the roof, the museum with the various exhibits on traditional culture and history, and finally, the San rock art exhibits. Unfortunately, the latter has been deteriorating over the years and will soon have to be removed.

To get to this destination, you must take the signposted road or ask the hotel to take a guided tour, either private or communal. Near the mansion, there is an old church that can also be visited and where the parish priest will be more than happy to explain the history of the place.
