Democratic Republic of the Congo Passport Photos and Visa Photo Requirements – Rules, Guidelines, and Specifications
Although you have all the DR Congo passport photo requirements listed above, you may need clarification on some of them. Providing an improper passport photo will lead to rejection, and we do not want that to happen to you. That is why you will find that the information below is most helpful.
- The setting in which you choose to take your passport photo or visa photo is essential. You must select a white wall as your background. In case your walls are not white, you can use a white sheet. Just hang it on the wall and problem solved.
- The camera should be placed at eye level. That ensures the best exposure of your facial features. Remember that both halves of your face must be visible equally. That is why you are prohibited from tilting or rotating your head in any direction. Needless to say, portrait-style photos will be rejected.
- Smiling is not acceptable in a passport photo or visa photo. Your face must adopt a neutral facial expression. Make sure not to frown or to raise your brows. Altering your facial expression can cause issues.
- When taking the photo for your passport/visa, look directly into the camera. Your eyes must be entirely visible. Do not squint. Also, if you wear glasses, you can keep them on, but only as long as the frames do not obstruct your eyes and there is no glare in the picture. If you have tinted glasses, you should take them off. Sunglasses are also not acceptable.
- The light in the room in which you take the picture must not be too bright or too dark. It should also come from in front of you so that it does not form any shadows on your face.
- If your religious beliefs compel you to keep your head covered whenever you are in public, you can keep the headwear when you take your passport photo or visa photo. However, you need to be careful that the veil does not cast shadows on your face. Moreover, your face must be visible from the top of your forehead to the bottom of your chin. This is the only acceptable compromise.
- If you usually wear a beard and you do not plan on making any changes to it, you can keep it for your passport photo or visa photo.
Rules and Requirements for Babies, Infants, and Newborn Passport and Visa Photos
Children are not exempt from having their own passport or visa, no matter how young they are. That is why if you travel with your kids, you need to get them their own passports and visas. Taking their picture is necessary as well, as you can imagine. The tips below should help you in the process.
- If you put the child in a car seat for the photoshoot, remember to put a white sheet on the backrest.
- With very young children, people usually take the picture from above while the baby lays on his/her back. If you want to do that, don’t forget to place the baby on a white sheet or a white blanket.
- If the baby has a pacifier or a hat, take them off for the passport photo or visa photo.
-Take the picture when the child is awake.
- Remember that only the child can appear in the passport photo or visa photo.
