What you need to know about Qatar World Cup 2022

WHAT IS THE QATAR WORLD CUP 2022, AND WHERE CAN I GET MY TICKETS?

The World Cup is one of the most important international soccer tournaments. This event qualifies a series of national teams from all continents, previously selected through matches organized by FIFA.

This sporting event is held every four years and began in 1930. After that, it has only not been held on 2 occasions, 1942 and 1946, dates in which the First and Second World Wars were taking place. The country that will be in charge of organizing the most extraordinary event in soccer history is chosen by the FIFA executive committee. This year Qatar has been selected as the lucky host. Tickets will be available exclusively through FIFA.com and divided into three parts: tickets for a match, tickets to follow a national team, and tickets for a venue.

WHEN IS THE QATAR WORLD CUP 2022?

This event will be held in the fall for the first time. The 2022 World Cup will start on November 21, 2022, and end on December 18, 2022. It takes place on those dates because Qatar is a very hot country between June and July, where temperatures can reach 50° Celsius. It is almost impossible to support such a massive soccer competition in a climate like this.

Make sure you plan your visit with anticipation, and you'll be able to make the most of your trip and travel around the country.

iVisa Recommends

Take advantage of your trip to the World Cup in Qatar to visit other spectacular places in the country, such as the Katara Cultural Village. Its a cultural village located in Doha, the country’s capital, which has become one of the main tourist attractions. It was inaugurated during the Doha Film Festival in 2010. In this cultural village, you will find the main artistic spaces of the city, and you will be impressed with an architecture that reflects all the architectural heritage of the Arab people, culture and of the country.

Another exciting destination in the capital is the Doha Museum of Islamic Art. This destination is a surprising space due to its architecture, containing many secrets and jewels. This museum was inaugurated in 2008, and its structure was designed by the American architect Ieoh Ming Pei, who tried to construct a building that reflects a palace for Islamic art. Although the collection in the museum is not very extensive, all the different materials and works displayed are of excellent quality. That is why it has become one of the world’s leading museums of Islamic art.
