Qatar is a peninsula in the Persian Gulf, and it is one of the wealthiest countries thanks to its oil and natural gas reserves. What you cannot miss on your trip there is a visit to the Pearl Qatar, which is a man-made island connected by a bridge to Doha. It is not the cheapest place to be because there are high-end restaurants and shops, but it is an experience worth trying. At the same time, it is a must to see one of the local bazaars. You can buy tons of souvenirs, but the best thing about it is that you can bargain. It is an experience in itself. Other than that, you can find some relaxation at the Banana Island Resort Doha. It is a beautiful retreat with villas built over the water. It is a tranquil place, but keep in mind that it is made for the locals, so you will not find a drop of alcohol anywhere within the resort. After all, the people of Qatar are Muslim. Before you take a trip to Qatar, you need to see whether you need a visa or not. Qatar’s visa policy is pretty lenient and includes many solutions for almost all nationalities. First of all, the citizens of GCC countries (Gulf Cooperation Council) can enter Qatar without a visa. Secondly, a significant number of nationalities are eligible for a visa waiver on arrival. What that means is that eligible nationalities that arrive in Qatar will be given a multi-entry visa waiver at the point of entry. Travelers must present a valid passport and a return or onward flight ticket. The visa waiver grants a stay that varies from 30 to 180 days, depending on the nationality. Keep in mind that the visa waiver is available only at Hamad International Airport. Thirdly, Qatar adopted the electronic visa system in 2017. As a result, all nationalities that do not qualify for the visa on arrival can apply online for a Qatar e-visa. The document is issued in 4 business days and grants a 30-day stay in Qatar. The best solution for finding out which visa you are eligible for is iVisa’s Visa Checker. The information you need is just a few clicks away. Click on the Visa Checker button located in the top-right corner, select your country of origin in the menu on the left, and choose Qatar in the menu on the right. The result will display whether or not you need a visa, and if you do, you will get some valuable information. As far as the requirements go, it is best if you call the visa service to find out. What we can tell you is that all travelers who wish to visit Qatar need to have a valid passport that does not expire for another 6 months from the date of arrival. Unfortunately, iVisa does not process Qatar visa applications at the moment, but we plan to change that in the future. Until then, all we can offer you is information. Our support service is at your disposal 24/7, and it is entirely free of charge.
