What is Schengen Visa?

If you’re planning a short trip to the European Union, then you can take advantage of this travel authorization. The Schengen Visa is an electronic document that allows citizens of Nepal to stay in the Schengen region for 90 days or less.

With this visa, you can freely move around the member states for business or tourism. You can also use it to take a short course in any of the member countries, as long as it is not longer than 90 days.

However, if you’re planning to apply for a job or work inside the Schengen area, you’ll need to apply for the proper paper visa instead. Reach out to the embassy or consulate of the country you’re planning to visit to get the correct visa for your trip.

All visitors, including minors, must carry their valid visas to enter the Schengen zone. It’s the responsibility of the parent or guardian to obtain this visa on their behalf. You can easily add a minor to your application when you apply with iVisa.

How to apply for a Schengen Visa From Nepal?

Applying for this visa is very easy. Completing the visa application form won’t take you longer than 15 minutes, and with iVisa, you’ll have the advantage of having a team of experts to assist you every step of the way.

To obtain your visa, you’ll need to:

  • First, fill out our online Schengen Visa application form using your personal information and travel details. We recommend that you have your passport and other support documents handy when filling out the form to avoid making any mistakes. Any discrepancies between your supporting documents and the form can cause your visa to get denied or cause setbacks in your application.

  • Second, double-check that all of your details on the visa application form are correct. Make sure your name, date of birth, and passport number are all right. These are some of the most frequent mistakes.

  • Third, select a form of payment and processing option, upload all the supporting documents and pay for your visa.

After receiving your application, one of our visa experts will carefully review it and ensure everything is on point. We’ll be in touch if we need to correct any mistakes or if we need additional supporting documents.

Some travelers might need a birth or marriage certificate, especially if they’re traveling with minors or a European spouse. Make sure to have those handy if we ask you for them.

If, at some point, you need to make an appointment to visit the embassy and get your visa, we’ll take care of that for you and give you some recommendations to have a successful visit.

Not all Nepalese passport holders are eligible to apply for a Schengen visa. To obtain your visa, you’ll need to have these documents:

  • Accommodation details (hotel reservation or invitation letter).
  • Medical and travel insurance with a minimum coverage of 30,000 Euros.

Can I get a visa on arrival?

Not exactly. Due to security reasons, the Schengen area will no longer allowing entry to foreign travelers without processing a travel authorization, as of mid 2023.

Based on their nationality and other criteria, some travelers can obtain an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System). This document is a visa waiver enforced to protect the Schengen area against potential terrorist attacks, illegal immigration, and drug and human trafficking.

You can use our visa checker tool to see if you qualify for the visa waiver.
