Visa Policy for Seychelles

Seychelles is a visa-free country because Seychelles has signed a universal unilateral visa waiver. As a result, any foreign nationals who visit Seychelles are granted visa-free access. They are not required to obtain a Seychelles Visa. However, the travelers must obtain a Visitor's Permit. According to the Seychelles Visa Policy, a Seychelles Visitors Permit upon Arrival is issued free of charge and is valid for up to 3 months. However, later on, it can be extended in 3 month increments with a further extension not exceeding the total period of 12 months.

Requirements to obtain Seychelles Visitor Permit following the Seychelles Visa Policy are as follows:

• The traveler must possess a valid return/onward ticket.

• He should have a confirmed accommodation, or letter of invitation if staying with friends or relatives; and

• He must have with himself sufficient funds for the duration of the stay.

• Financial resources are allowed to be carried in cash, travel vouchers, or credit cards.

When the above documents are presented and verified by the authorities, the visitors will be granted a Visitors Permit upon entry.

• For this, no application form or request is to be made in advance.

• This permit is valid for 30 days.

• If a traveler wishes to stay more than 30 days, the duration of stay can be extended in installments of 3 months up to one year, as long as the requirements, conditions, and other documents are properly executed.

• An immigration form is handed out by the flight crew shortly before landing. Travelers should complete it and hand it over at the time of entry.

Requirements for Entry

• The traveler must have a Passport with Validity up to the date of departure.

• The valid passport must contain two or more blank pages.

• Travelers should have been granted their Seychelles Travel Authorization on arrival

• They must have a valid and properly executed onward or return ticket

• Children traveling must have their own identification/children passport

• Travelers must have a booking confirmed for accommodation containing contact details

• Travelers should have sufficient funds for the entire duration of stay

• Sufficient funds although vary but still are considered approximately$150 per day.

Mutual visa exemptions

Apart from the Unilateral Visa Waiver Agreement, Seychelles has also signed mutual visa exemption agreements with certain countries. Below is given a list of countries along with the permitted period of stay as per the agreement.

COUNTRY— PERMITTED PERIOD OF STAY

• Brazil — stays up to 90 days per 180-day period.

• Cambodia — stays up to 14 days

• China — stays up to 30 days

• Macau — Macau SAR passport holders and travel cardholders have visa-free access to Seychelles for up to 30 days.

• European Union — All citizens of states that are contracting parties to the Agreement are eligible to stay without a visa for a maximum of 3 months during 6 months commencing the date of first entry.

• Russia — stays up to 30 days.

• United Arab Emirates — stays up to 90 days.

• Yugoslavia —A visa exemption agreement with Yugoslavia from February 1987 is still in the works and provides visa exemption to the citizens of successor states.

Restrictions

The holders of Kosovo passports are refused admission and transit.

Tourist Visa Policy for Seychelles

The Seychelles Visitor Permit is issued to citizens who want to visit the nation of Seychelles for tourism purposes. During the permitted period of stay, under a Seychelles tourist visa, travelers cannot work or perform business activities. Since this can be obtained on arrival, there is no need to go through the application process and wait a few weeks before getting your visa.

Other Visa Information for Seychelles

Travelers from Europe are allowed to import unlimited amounts of foreign currency into Seychelles.

However, import or national currency is limited to an amount of up to SCR 2,000 - approximately equivalent to €115.

In addition, the following import limits are applicable:

• 2 litre spirits or liquor

• 2 litres wine

• 200ml of perfume or eau de toilette

• 200 cigarettes

• 250g of tobacco

Weapons of any kind are prohibited to be imported. If a traveler seeks to import weapons of some kind, he requires special authorization.

The value of food brought should not exceed €200 in value (SCR 3,000).

Anything over and above this is taxed in the local currency and must be paid in cash on the spot. Moreover, no credit card payments are allowed.
