If you want to travel to Singapore, you should consider that there are some countries that can enter this nation with a SG Arrival Card, an special admission document that replaces the old Disembarkation / Embarkation Card (DE Card) or an Electronic Visa, which replaces a consular visa.

As you might guess, not all countries can apply for the SG Arrival Card or the e-Visa, and you also need to know what are the fees and requirements to get these documents properly. To help you with this, we have brought you this article.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How do I know if I can apply for a SG Arrival Card or an e-Visa?

To learn if you are in any of these categories, you can use iVisa’s Visa Checker. It is a simple tool that you can find in the top right corner of this page. Access it and follow the steps. All you have to do is click on the drag-down menu and select your country of origin. Then, you must go to the menu on the right and choose Singapore as your destination. If you are eligible for a Singapore SG Arrival Card or an e-Visa, the Visa Checker will redirect you to the application page. If not, you will be provided with a list of the embassies you can visit.

Is the Singapore SG Arrival Card an electronic visa?

The Singapore Electronic Arrival Card is an electronic admission document that was made to replace the traditional paper Disembarkation/Embarkation Card (DE Card). This document is not a visa, so in case you have to apply for a visa in order to enter Singapore, you should go to your closer Embassy.

How many types of electronic documents are there in Singapore?

There are two types of electronic documents:

  • e-Visa
  • SG Arrival Card

What are the differences between them?

The main differences are that the Singapore e-Visa works as a consular visa but with an electronic system, while the SG Arrival Card isn't a visa, but an electronic authorization to enter the country, just as

What are the requirements?

No matter if you apply for a SG Arrival Card or the e-Visa, in any of these you need some documents. Here are the most important things to consider:

  • Valid passport.

  • A recent photo.

  • Information about your occupation.

  • Your confirmed travel dates.

  • Accommodation information.

  • Information regarding your academic/professional background.

How much does it cost to apply online for a Singapore e-visa?

The simple answer would be that it does not cost much compared with the time and effort you waste by choosing to apply at an embassy. After all, when you apply online, you do not have to go anywhere. You can apply from the comfort of your own home.

As far as the fees are concerned, iVisa had and always will have competitive prices. However, the cost of your Singapore e-visa can differ. How is that? It depends on the processing time you select when you fill in the application form. You will be given three options, and each of them comes with its own cost. They are as follows:

  • Standard processing time – this is the slowest processing time you have at hand, but it is the cheapest at the same time. Most people go for this one. Your application is processed within 24 hours, and you must pay only USD $55.99.

  • Rush processing time – this is the in-between option. You will receive your Singapore e-visa in just 4 hours, and you are charged USD $102.99.

  • Super Rush processing time – if you choose this option, you are getting your document as fast as possible. It is ideal for emergency situations. Your visa arrives in your e-mail inbox in as little as 30 minutes. As you can imagine, this is the most expensive options. It costs USD $174.99.

What you should know is that the fee for your visa consists of two parts. First, there is the cost of the visa itself, which never changes. However, it is the service fee for iVisa that cost more with each processing time. It makes sense if you think about it. The faster you want your Singapore e-visa, the more you have to pay for it.

How much does it cost to apply online for a SG Arrival Card?

The fees for a SG Arrival Card are the same as the Singapore e-Visa. The only difference is clearly the type of document. Please note that it is not the same an SG Arrival Card than an e-Visa, so before applying, check if your country is elegible for any of these documents here.

How can I pay for it?

One thing that you should know is that iVisa requires you to make the payment during the application process, like all visa services. However, you have multiple available means of payment. iVisa accepts credit or debit cards, but you can pay with PayPal as well. Whichever you find more convenient.

As you can see, getting your visa for Singapore online is not very expensive. What is more important is that you can apply on your own time without even leaving the house, and that is worth a lot for many people.
