What is the Singapore eVisa?

The Singapore eVisa is a digital document that allows travelers from eligible nations to enter the country.

It's an electronic version of the traditional visa but much more convenient. There is no need to visit an embassy or mail in your passport!

You can apply for your Singapore eVisa as late as two days before you arrive in Singapore, but we recommend applying at least eight days before you go.

  • At iVisa, we offer a handy queue service: If you apply for your eVisa further in advance, we don't just submit it immediately. Instead, we carefully time your application submission to ensure its validity.

What can I do with the Singapore eVisa?

The Singapore eVisa is only for tourism purposes.

What can I not do with the Singapore eVisa?

You can't live, work, study, or do business in Singapore on this visa.

Who needs to apply for the Singapore eVisa?

Citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan must apply for this pre-entry permit to visit the country.

Ensure you also have the SG Arrival Card before you go.

Note that having a visa doesn't guarantee entry into the country—the final decision lies with the checkpoint authority upon arrival.

Who is visa-exempt for Singapore?

Foreign citizens of over 160 countries may enter Singapore without a valid visa. However, the length of stay depends on the nationality.

To determine if you require a Singapore eVisa or another kind of visa to enter the country, use our Visa Checker Tool and apply online!

Parents or legal guardians must sign the application form and include the minor's birth certificate during the application process.

Do I need the Singapore eVisa to transit through the country?

Foreign visitors just passing through Singapore and not leaving the airport, good news: you don't need a visa! However, you will need to do/have the following:

  • You need an onward ticket for your next stop.

  • Stay in the transit area of Changi Airport (you don’t enter the country).

  • Ensure your bags are checked through to your final destination.

One important thing to remember: If you're flying with a low-cost airline, this visa-free transit perk only applies if your connecting flight is booked on the same ticket. Keep this in mind to ensure a smooth transit experience in Singapore!

Singapore entry requirements or restrictions

Everyone traveling to Singapore must fill out the SG Arrival Card. You should do this within three days before you arrive – including the day you land in Singapore (except for Singapore citizens or those transiting at the airport).

Differences between the Singapore eVisa and SG Arrival Card

When considering travel to Singapore, you must understand the differences between the Singapore eVisa and the SG Arrival Card. Check below to have clear in mind the purposes of each travel document.

Purpose:

  • The eVisa is an electronic visa for visitors from countries that are eligible for the document.

  • The SG Arrival Card is an entry requirement for all visitors, serving as a health declaration and customs card.

Function:

  • The eVisa grants permission to enter and stay in Singapore.

  • In contrast, the SG Arrival Card isn’t a visa but a mandatory document for immigration clearance.

Where can I learn more about the Singapore eVisa?

Required Documents to Apply

  • Applicant's Photo
  • Passport page
  • Airline confirmation (if applicable)
  • Travel itinerary (if applicable)
  • Proof of accommodation
  • Proof of Marriage or Spousal Relationship (if applicable)

Important Instructions

  • The Singapore eVisa is only for tourism purposes.

  • Travelers must have their passports with at least 6 months of validity from the date of arrival and have at least 1 page available for stamping.

  • The Singapore eVisa is valid for 63 days after issued and allows the holder a maximum stay of 30 days Per Entry. However, due to highly chances of rejection, we only process applications for tourists staying no more than 15 days Per Entry.

  • Having a Singapore eVisa does not provide an automatic right of entry into the country (also known as being granted an immigration pass). The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officer at the port of entry may refuse entry to any person if they consider that a person is unable to fulfill the immigration requirements or that such person's presence in Singapore would be contrary to national interests or security.

  • A proof of accommodation is required to obtain the travel document. The dates in this document MUST match the travel dates selected in the application. This is a requirement that is demanded by the government in order to issue the travel document.

  • Please be aware that, due to frequent rejections of the Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority, we are not accepting applications for women under 40 years old traveling alone.

  • iVisa is a legitimate company, accredited and recognized by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). For more information, see the FAQs below.

Questions?

In the event of an error, the best thing to do is contact our customer service team. Our visa experts are available 24/7 and will gladly help resolve the problem.

With our iVisa experts reviewing all visa applications and accompanying documentation before submission, rejections are rare.

However, if government officials find any errors and reject your application, iVisa will refund your processing fee, and you will have the option to reapply for your Singapore e-visa.

NB: Government fees will not be refunded.

No, you do not need to apply for a new visa if your travel date to Singapore (entry into Singapore) is within the visa validity period.

To transfer your valid visa from your old travel document or passport to the new one with which you intend to travel to Singapore, you will need to visit an Authorized Visa Agent for assistance. You will also need to have the following supporting documents:

  • Your old and new travel documents (original and copy)

  • Printout of the valid visa

  • Form 14A duly completed and signed

  • Your recent passport-sized color photograph taken within the last three months

The Singapore Immigration Authority is in charge of deciding and granting valid Singapore visas, and as with any visa to any other country, possessing one does not guarantee a foreign national entry into the country.

Immigration Authority officers at the Singapore checkpoints get the final say on whether you can enter or not, and each case is considered on its own merits.

Refusals by the Immigration and Checkpoint Authorities are rare, and the reasons are not disclosed. However, some causes of rejection by the Immigration & Checkpoints authority include the following:

  • The applicant did something wrong during their previous stay in Singapore

  • The applicant has abused the visa regime or overstayed the permitted time during their previous stay

  • The applicant has another currently valid visa to Singapore

  • The applicant has already been refused a visa recently

  • The applicant has already applied for a visa with another agency

  • The photograph is not sharp or bright enough

Due to increased illegal activity by female tourists entering Singapore with a tourist visa, the ICA has become much stricter with the visa approval procedure.

At iVisa, we understand that your time is valuable, and we strive to provide you with the fastest service possible. Our processing times are estimated based on the average duration it takes governments to process visa applications. These estimated times begin from the moment we receive all the correct information for your application until you receive your visa. While we work diligently to expedite the process, it’s important to note that we are reliant on the processing times set by the government authorities.
