Visa Policy for Slovakia

Travelers going to Slovakia must have the Slovakia visa as the Slovakia visa policy states that in order to enter, remain within or leave Slovakia, you must have the Slovakia visa.

When applying for the Slovakia Visa, certain details must be provided in order for the visa to be processed and approved. The following details must be provided for a visa application to be approved by officials; the country from which the passport was applied for and issued, the length that the traveler is thinking of staying in Slovakia and why the traveler is coming to the country.

The Slovakia visa implemented by the Slovakia government is mandatory to nationals of countries that are not visa exempt. Implementing this visa has allowed travelers to explore Slovakia for tourism purposes as well as business purposes, and the traveler in possession of a visa for Slovakia is able to stay in Slovakia for up to 90 days Per Entry.

The Schengen visa birthed from the Schengen Agreement allows holders to travel to 27 countries, including Slovakia. This allows travelers from Slovakia the opportunity to visit all the countries that are located within the Schengen area with just this visa.

Once the Slovakia visa has been approved, travelers can easily apply online for their visa and receive it shortly after. They must be shown to immigration officials when a traveler arrives at the port of entry to Slovakia.

Any traveler who holds a passport for one of the exempt 150 countries is able to travel freely without having to submit an application for a visa and have it approved before travel. The Schengen Agreement for travel without visas along with 25 other European countries was signed by Slovakia, which share the common Schengen Area visa policy.

Tourist Visa Policy for Slovakia

There is currently 1 visa used to enter Slovakia in accordance with its Visa policy for tourism purposes. Travelers who want to visit Slovakia, who do not have a passport that is granted visa exemption from the Slovakia Visa policy, must obtain the permission of the Slovakia's government before trying to cross the border into the country.

Slovakia Visa

Over 150 countries citizens across the Schengen area can get the Slovakia Visa. If the traveler's country isn’t exempt, then the traveler will be required to apply for, and be approved for, the Slovakia Visa according to the Slovakia Visa policy before visiting the country. This visa permits a single entry into Slovakia and mandates that the passport holder have at least 6 months validity left on their passport before the expiration date.

The maximum stay for a traveler that is allowed by the Slovakia Visa policy when in possession of the Slovakia Visa is 90 days per entry. The visa is valid for one single entry. If a traveler wants to enter the country more than one time, the traveler may apply for a multiple entry Slovakia Visa according to the Slovakia Visa policy.

In order to obtain a Slovakia Visa, you must:

  • Have an original signed passport with 6 months or more validity
  • Airline Confirmation
  • Proof of Accommodation
  • Invitation Letter (if applicable)
  • Proof of accommodation must be shown to border officials in order to obtain a visa. The dates in this document must be the same as the travel dates selected in the application. This is a requirement that is mandated by the Slovakia government in order for them to issue a visa.
