ROMANTIC PIRAN

The Piran town lies on a peninsula on the Adriatic seacoast enclosed in old walls, though well-preserved. It is considered one of the best coastal cities in Slovenia. A visit to Piran is a journey to the past due to its medieval architecture, terracotta rooftops buildings, and cobblestone streets. It is a great site to watch the sunset from the seashore or from a café while listening to distant music. There are many places to visit during your stay. Some of them are:

  • Tartini Square Named after the Piran-born Baroque composer and violinist, Giuseppe Tartini. Easily identifiable by Tartini’s statue (dating from 1896) in the center of the square.

  • Municipal Palace The building behind Tartini’s. You will recognize it by the lion with wings sculpture.

  • Tartini’s House Giuseppe Tartini’s birthplace is located on Tartini Square. This is one of the oldest houses of Piran.

  • Saint George's Church The major church of Piran and also the largest one. This is one of the most significant monuments of Piran built between 1592 through 1614. Climbing its bell tower is highly recommended to get magnificent views of as far as Italy and Croatia.
