Get Your Schengen Visa Application for Slovenia Online Now!

Slovenia is one of the smallest countries in the European Union. The country was part of Yugoslavia in the 20th century. Nowadays, it is part of the Schengen area, along with 26 other European countries. The capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, is known for its beautiful architecture and peaceful atmosphere. Today, Slovenia remains one of the most visited countries in Europe, and it is perfect for both solo trips or holidays with family and friends.

According to the Schengen agreement and EU law, if you wish to travel to Slovenia and you are not a citizen of a Schengen country of the European Union, you will need to apply for a Schengen visa to enter the country and cross land borders and air borders. This visa can be used for different traveling purposes, including tourism, business, short studies, or medical reasons.

The Schengen visa will soon be available on iVisa.com. In the meantime, check if you’re eligible for a visa or other travel document for Slovenia, using our convenient Visa Checker widget.

What is the Slovenian Schengen Visa?

A Schengen visa is a travel document that allows you to stay and travel in the entire Schengen area. This Schengen area consists of 26 European countries, including Slovenia. There are three types of Schengen visas for EU countries: transit visas (type A), short-stay visas (type C), and long-term visas (type D).

How long are Schengen Visas valid?

The type of visa determines how long you can stay in Slovenia with this visa. The short-term Schengen visa allows third-country nationals to stay in the country for up to 90 days within a 180-day period, and up to one year with a long-term Schengen visa. It is linked to your passport.

A short-term Schengen visa can be granted for single, double, or multiple entries. A long-term visa can be granted to visitors who want to enroll in an educational program in Slovenia, work, and live in the country.

Overstaying the Schengen can result in a number of consequences. You may be fined or refused entry for up to three years. You can be immediately deported if you are caught overstaying your Schengen visa. Only in exceptional circumstances can you extend your Schengen Visa during your trip.

In addition to the standard documents listed above, must also provide the following:

  • Your child's birth certificate.
  • Certified copies of passports/ID of both parents.
  • An application form signed by both parents.
  • If only one parent has full custody of the child, you also need to provide consent from the other parent.
  • A notarized parental authorization signed by both parents in case your child is traveling alone.

The visa fee for your child depends on their age. If your child is under 6 years old, the Schengen visa will cost less.
