The Solomon Islands are an archipelago in the South Pacific. It is located east of Papua New Guinea, but they are more popular than its neighbor. The islands are known for their beautiful scenery and pristine beaches. The Solomon Islands are an excellent choice if you are looking to disconnect yourself from the world for a few days. You can sit on one of the several beaches. You have the option of putting your towel on the beach under a tree. Some areas have flora close to the water. Another popular attraction in the Solomon Islands is scuba diving. Several operators provide day trips. Since the Solomon Islands are a part of the Coral Triangle, prepare yourself for the most fantastic scuba trip.

Before you take your trip to the Solomon Islands, you need to check whether or not you need a visa. Lucky for you, the visa policy of the Solomon Islands is somewhat liberal. In consequence, the citizens of all Schengen Area, Israel, and the United Arab Emirates can travel to the Solomon Islands without a visa and stay there for up to 90 days. At the same time, visas on arrival are available to the nationals of 44 countries. These travelers can visit for 3 months in the Solomon Islands as well. Lastly, all the other nationalities in the world, with a few exceptions, can obtain a visa on arrival only if they have a pre-arranged visa approval.

Learning in which category you belong is easy. You can either read the visa policy of the Solomon Islands, or you can use iVisa’s Visa Checker. The latter is more convenient. It is a feature that is easy to use - the information you need is just three clicks away. Access the tool located in the top right corner of this page. You then select your country of origin from the left drag-down menu and the Solomon Islands as the destination in the right menu. The result will be displayed in just a second and lets you know if you need a visa. If you do need a visa, you will be provided with a list of the nearest embassies you can go to and apply.

The government of the Solomon Islands did not adopt the electronic visa system, which is why iVisa cannot help you with the visa application process. Nevertheless, we would still like to be helpful, which is why our customer support is at your disposal 24/7. The service is free of charge.

If you find out that you need a visa, you must inquire about the visa requirements. You can do that online because the internet is full of information. However, we recommend to use it as a reference only because not everything you find online is reliable. The best thing you could do is call the issuing authority and make your inquiries there. They can give you the most reliable information. In the meantime, we can tell you that all foreigners who travel to the Solomon Islands need to have a valid passport that remains valid for at least another 6 months from the date of arrival.

We regret that we cannot help you with the Solomon Islands visa application itself, and we hope that the information above at least points you in the right direction.
