Updated on Jan 22, 2024

Recently, South Africa decided to start issuing electronic visas, which is supposed to begin in November 2019. Unfortunately, we do not have much information about it yet because the official guidelines have not been released to the public. We do not know if the citizens of Nigeria will be eligible for a South Africa eVisa, as the list of eligible nationalities has not been made public yet. Even so, we do have a few details that you will find useful if Nigerian citizens are among the nationalities that qualify for a South Africa eVisa.

What will be the requirements for a South Africa eVisa?

The official bylaws may not be released yet, but we do know a few details regarding the requirements for a South Africa eVisa. All travelers who plan on getting a South Africa eVisa must be passport holders. Furthermore, the passport must remain valid for at least another 30 days after the intended date of departure from South Africa and must have two blank pages available for stamping.

Unfortunately, that is all we know for the time being. However, as soon as more information about the South Africa eVisa is released, it is possible that more requirements will be added. All we can do at this point is to wait for the South African government to release more details.

Will the online application process be difficult?

This is something we can help you with. If a South Africa eVisa for the citizens of Nigeria becomes available, we can guarantee that the online application process will be short and stress-free. We are currently working on a 2-step online form that you will be able to complete in just a few minutes. Besides, our customer support service will be at your disposal 24/7 and entirely free of charge should you have any questions or concerns.

In the first step of the application form, you will need to provide your personal information such as name, address, nationality, phone number, and so on. You will also need to provide your passport info and travel dates, as well as your choice of processing time for the application. iVisa gives you three options so that you can select the one that best suits your needs. Just remember that the sooner you expect your South Africa eVisa to be ready, the more you will need to pay for it.

The second step is even quicker. First, you must provide payment for your online application. You will be able to use a credit or debit card, PayPal, Alipay, and WeChat. Second, you must do a quick review of your form to ensure it does not contain any mistakes. All the information you provide must be 100% correct. Even a simple error like a spelling mistake can invalidate your South Africa eVisa.

When the two steps are complete, you can submit your application. iVisa will process your application in the timeframe of your choosing, and the South Africa eVisa will arrive via e-mail in PDF format. It is as simple as that.

While we cannot know for sure if Nigerian citizens will be eligible for a South Africa eVisa, we can assure you that iVisa will facilitate your application process if so. Please check back with us soon so that you can learn about future developments about the South Africa eVisa.
