Sri Lanka’s visa policy allows all travelers, with the exception of 21 nationalities, to enter the country on a visa on arrival. To find out if you are among the 21 nationalities, you can use our Visa Checker, which is located in the top right corner of this page. However, all foreigners who are eligible for a visa on arrival, must first obtain a Sri Lanka ETA before departure. You may not be able to get the visa on arrival online, but iVisa can help you get your Sri Lanka tourist ETA online.
What are the requirements?
The best thing about iVisa’s application process is that you do not have to struggle with the requirements. The list is short, and you may already have everything you need. Here is what you must provide so that iVisa can get the process started:
Valid passport – to obtain a Sri Lanka ETA, all applicants must hold a valid passport that remains valid for at least another 6 months from the date of arrival in Sri Lanka.
Digital photo – make sure that the picture is as recent as possible and follows all the guidelines for a passport photo.
Valid e-mail address – iVisa will send you the ETA via e-mail in PDF format, which is why you must provide an e-mail address to which you have access. Do not forget to print out a physical copy before you leave.
Means of payment – during the application process, you will be required to make the payment. iVisa accepts credit or debit cards, but you can use PayPal, Alipay, or WeChat as well.
Sri Lanka tourist visa online – how to handle the application
The next step after putting together all the items above would be to fill in the application form. But iVisa’s form is nothing like all the other forms you have ever dealt with. This one is short and simple. You should not spend more than 20 minutes completing it, and iVisa is ready to jump in whenever you need assistance. Its support service is available 24/7.
The application form you need to complete has three steps. During the first one, you are asked to cover your personal information as well as some details regarding your trip. You are invited to select a processing time as well, but remember that what you choose determines the cost of your Sri Lanka Tourist ETA. Your options are as follows:
Standard processing – this is the cheapest and slowest option iVisa puts at your disposal. Your application is processed within 1 business day, and it costs $55.
Rush processing – this time, your ETA arrives in just 3 hours, but you will be charged $85.
Super Rush processing – it only takes 30 minutes for your application to be processed. As you can imagine, the fee is higher. $105 to be more precise.
During the second step, you need to manage the payment and revise the information you inserted during step one. It is essential that all the info you provide is accurate and correct. Otherwise, you may end up with an invalid visa, in which case you must repeat the application process.
The third and last step asks you to upload some documents. This is when you upload your photo and a scan f your passport’s information page. Additional documents may be required, but iVisa will let you know. Once all the steps are complete, you can submit your application.
The bottom line is that you can take the necessary measures to obtain your Sri Lanka tourist visa online. You do not get the visa per se, but you will have everything you need to get your visa on arrival when you get to Sri Lanka. The document you receive from iVisa is valid for 90 days since issue, you can use it for a double-entry, and it allows you to stay in Sri Lanka for up to 30 days per entry.
