Sri Lanka visa – how to apply online for an ETA?

The online application process is easier than you think. iVisa designed a short and straightforward process so that you can save valuable time and effort. The first thing you need to take care of is to meet the requirements. iVisa may handle the heavy lifting, but you need to provide the right information and documents to get the process started. Here is what you need:

  • Valid passport – to obtain a Sri Lanka ETA, all applicants must hold a valid passport that remains valid for at least another 6 months from the date of arrival in Sri Lanka.

  • Digital photo – make sure that the picture is as recent as possible and follows all the guidelines for a passport photo.

  • Valid e-mail address – iVisa will send you the ETA via e-mail in PDF format, which is why you must provide an e-mail address to which you have access. Do not forget to print out a physical copy before you leave.

  • Means of payment – during the application process, you will be required to make the payment. iVisa accepts credit or debit cards, but you can use PayPal, Alipay, or WeChat as well.

Once you have everything you need, you can move on and fill in the application form. It is the last requirement you need to handle. However, the form is short, and you should complete it in no more than 20 minutes. Plus, iVisa has an excellent support service that is at your disposal 24/7 if you need help along the way.

The form we are referring to has three steps. The first one asks for your personal information, but it also requires you to select a processing time for your application. iVisa gives you three options, and each of them has its own cost. They are as follows:

  • Standard processing – this is the cheapest and slowest option iVisa puts at your disposal. Your application is processed within 1 business day, and it costs $55.

  • Rush processing – this time, your ETA arrives in just 3 hours, but you will be charged $85.

  • Super Rush processing – it only takes 30 minutes for your application to be processed. As you can imagine, the fee is higher. $105 to be more precise.

If you travel to Sri Lanka for business purposes, you need a Sri Lanka Business ETA. The processing time options remain the same, but the fees are slightly different. You will be charged $70, $100, and $120 respectively.

Step number two consists of payment and revision, while the third step asks you to upload the necessary documents. Once you are done, all that is left for you to do is submit the application and wait. The rest is in iVisa’s hands.

The bottom line is that to obtain a Sri Lanka visa, you need to apply online for an ETA first. iVisa is of great help, and you will be done with the process in no time. The document is valid for 90 days since issue, and it grants you a double entry. You can stay in Sri Lanka for maximum 30 days per entry.
