Thailand Visa on Arrival

People who wish to travel to Thailand need a visa to cross the border. The embassy is the most common place where people get it from, but if you are lucky, you may be eligible for a visa on arrival. The citizens of 21 countries qualify for such a document, and it can be obtained at 48 immigration checkpoints all over Thailand. However, there is a better way of getting it. You can apply online and save yourself some time. iVisa can help you with that for a small fee, and when you get to Thailand, all that is left for you to do is pay.

What do you need?

For iVisa to help you get your Thailand visa on arrival, you need to provide a few things. Even so, the list is not very long and chances are you already have everything on it.

  • Valid passport – getting a passport is a piece of cake these days, but if you already have one, take a look at its expiry date. The passport needs to remain valid for at least another 30 days from your date of departure. Otherwise, your application will be rejected.

  • Return flight ticket – the Thailand visa on arrival allows you to spend only 15 days inside the country. To make sure that people follow this rule, the immigration officer will ask you to present a confirmed return flight ticket within the 15-day period.

  • Proof of accommodation – you need to have a hotel reservation, or you can have your host in Thailand write and sign a letter according to which you have a place to stay while in the country.

  • Valid e-mail address – once you apply on iVisa, they will send you an application form that you need to fill in before getting to Thailand. The alternative is to waste time at the service counter filling it in. They will send you the said document via e-mail, which is why you need to make sure that the address you provide is valid and correctly spelled.

  • Means of payment – what you need to pay during the application process is the service fee to iVisa. You can do that using a credit or a debit card, and if you have an account on Paypal, you can use that as well.

When you arrive at the immigration office in Thailand, the officers may ask you to state your purpose in Thailand, which cannot exceed 15 days.

How long does it take? What are the costs?

iVisa works hard to get what you want in as little time as possible. They provide three excellent processing time so that you can choose that best suits your needs and budget. They are as follows:

  1. Standard processing time – this is the most commonly preferred option mainly because it is the cheapest. It costs $20, and your application is processed within 1 business day.

  2. Rush processing time – this time, your application is processed within 2 hours, and you will be charged $50.

  3. Super Rush processing time – this option is fantastic for people who want their visa application on their way to the airport. It takes 15 minutes for the Thailand Visa on Arrival application form to arrive in your e-mail inbox, but you need to pay $70 for the urgency.

The fees above are owed to iVisa. Keep in mind that once you arrive in Thailand, you need to pay for the stamp itself. The cost of a Thailand visa on arrival is 2000 THB, which is roughly $65, depending on the exchange rates. Even so, applying with iVisa will save you a lot of trouble, and you can go enjoy Thailand instead of standing in line to wait for a visa.
