Tonga is an archipelago in the South Pacific Ocean, and it is known as the ‘Friendly Islands.’ The country is divided into four regions, and each of them is more beautiful than the next. There are very few man-made tourist attractions in Tonga, but you have where to choose from when it comes to nature’s wonders. Its pristine beaches will leave you in awe. The white sand, the blue water, and the flora will make you fall in love. Plus, you can explore every inch of that. You can go hiking, diving, snorkeling, you can choose to go on boat trips, and if you are up for it, kite surfing is available. Lastly, if you love lobster, Tonga is the place to be. Before you plan your trip to Tonga, you need to see if you must apply for a visa in advance. Chances are that you do not. That is because according to the visa policy of Tonga, the citizens of the European Union countries, United Arab Emirates, and China are not required to obtain a visa in advance. Instead, they can stay in Tonga for periods that vary from 30 to 90 days. Visas on arrival are also available for the citizens of 37 countries. They are valid for 31 days, but they can be extended up to 6 months. All the other nationalities must get a Tonga visa. If you want to know in which category you fit it, you can study the visa policy of Tonga, or you can use iVisa’s Visa Checker. It is a simple tool that tells you what you need to know in just a few clicks. First, you need to access the feature by clicking on the Visa Checker in the top right corner of this page. Then, you must select your country of origin from the drag-down menu on the left and add Tonga in the box on the right. The result will tell you if you need a Tonga visa, and if you do, you will be provided a list of the nearest embassies. Since Tonga’s visa policy makes no mention about electronic visas, iVisa cannot process applications at the moment. However, we still want to help with the process, which is why our support service is at your disposal. The service is free of charge, and you can call day or night. In case that the Visa Checker tells you that you do need a visa, you must inquire about the requirements so that you can meet them before departure. You have the option of doing your research online, but we recommend caution. That is because the information you find online is not always the most reliable. As an alternative, we advise you to call the issuing authority and ask about the requirements. It is the most legitimate source of information. In the meantime, what we can tell you is that all applicants must have a valid passport that does not expire for at least another 6 months from the date of arrival in Tonga. At the moment, we cannot help you get your Tonga visa, and we regret that, but we do hope that the information above is of use.
