Please note that as of June 2022 the CDC no longer requires travelers to present a negative COVID-19 test or documentation of recovery from COVID pre arrival to the US

The US implements a strict visa policy, but tourists, including Dutch, are allowed up to 90 days of vacation in the country. The Visa Waiver Program allows the citizens of 38 countries the possibility of getting a tourist visa through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization, or US ESTA for short. iVisa can help Dutch apply for a visa using an online application system and have it as quickly as 4 hours.

What is the US ESTA?

The Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) is an automated system that assists in determining eligibility to travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) and whether such travel poses any law enforcement or security risk. Upon completion of an ESTA application, a traveler is notified of his or her eligibility to travel to the United States under the VWP.

What is the difference between the ESTA and a Visa?

An ESTA is not a visa. Individuals who possess a valid visa will still be able to travel to the United States on that visa for the purpose for which it was issued. Individuals traveling on valid visas are not required to apply for a travel authorization.

Can I pay the US ESTA on arrival?

No, you can ONLY pay before you arrive. Note that you will need the proof of payment of the ETSA to board your flight.

Does the ETA guarantee admission into the USA?

If ESTA is approved, it only states that you are eligible to travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program, but does not guarantee that you are admissible to the United States.

Upon arrival in the USA, you will be inspected by an Immigration officer who will determine that you are inadmissible under the Visa Waiver Program or for any reason under United States law.
