The website began in February 2007.

It was ran by the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan. The State Committee was created by a decree on November 30, 2006.

State Investment Committee, State Property Management Tajikistan

The functions of the State Committee included:

  • the functions of the former State Committee on State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan;
  • the functions of the Center for the Coordination of External Assistance of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan;
  • taking on the issues from the former Ministry of Economy and Trade and the Ministry of Finance related to attracting foreign and domestic investments;
  • tackling the issues of antimonopoly policies while supporting entrepreneurship in Tajikistan which was formerly dealt with by the State Agency.

Tajiks who wanted to read news on the Investment Committee could obtain news directly from the State Property Committee, press releases made on behalf of the Committee, announcements on tenders held, and announcements of government auctions.

They also collected videos and photos of the department’s activities and meetings. There was an FAQ section for the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of Tajikistan.

Citizens of Tajikistan could access public funds for their investment ideas and projects. There was a list of the Committee’s investments into the economy of the Republic of Tajikistan. Also, a list of businesses located in Tajikistan was accessible on the website.

The letter from the Chairman of the Committee, Kodiri Kosim, thanked people for coming to the new site so they could find investment opportunities in Tajikistan. He also listed his tasks for economic development and economic restructuring such as growth in investment and criticizing legal and regulatory acts that may be hindering business growth. He claimed that the government of the Republic of Tajikistan was committed to improving the living standards of Tajiks and provide sustainable economic growth.

Some of the events held by the Committee included the Entrepreneurs’ Forum and REgional Exhibition of Khatlon 2016 and meetings between the President of Tajikistan and foreign entrepreneurs and investors.

Tajikistan Privatization: Sale of Government Land

Privatization of Tajikistan was a focus of the Committee. They believed that after Tajikistan gained its independence, that the law of Tajikistan focuses on producing various forms of ownership that helps sell state property to members of the Tajik community.

One of the main phases of privatization included small-scale privatization meaning helping to develop trade enterprises, catering, consumer services and transportation.

Their philosophy included that private management overall was better for the development of these areas of trade compared to public administration through the state.

The website remained updated until around July or August of 2018.
