Citizens of visa-waiver countries, such as the US, Canada, UK, and most EU nations, need a New Zealand ETA for short visits, as do Australian permanent residents. Australian citizens are exempt: they need neither an NZeTA nor a visa to enter New Zealand. If you are from a non-visa-waiver country, you must apply for a Standard Visitor Visa instead.
Once your New Zealand ETA application is approved, you will receive an email confirmation. The authorization is digitally linked to your passport, so there is no physical sticker or paper document to carry. However, it's always recommended to keep a digital copy of the confirmation on your phone for peace of mind, which you can also find in your iVisa dashboard if applied through us.
You can stay for up to 3 months (90 days) per visit. If you're a UK citizen, you can stay for up to 6 months (180 days). The ETA itself is valid for two years and allows for multiple entries.
