Why Register with the Embassy

Travel Registration is a service provided by the government. This service allows you to record information about your upcoming trip abroad to the Department of State so it can be used to assist you in case of an emergency. DOCUMENT OVERVIEW
The Republic of Zambia, more specifically the Ministry of Home Affairs (Department of Immigration), launched the e-Visa system in October 2015. The Transit visa is for travelers who are transiting through using land transport. The visa is valid for a maximum of 7 days in total.

OBTAIN THE ZAMBIA TRANSIT EVISA
To obtain this document you’ll have to provide personal information and some details about your transit through Zambia. Travelers fill out an online application and are sent an electronic Visa on Arrival Tourist Letter for Transit.

Important Instructions

  • Your passport must be valid for at least six months following your listed arrival date.

  • Transit visas are issued to nationals who require a visa to enter Zambia and are transiting through using land transport.

  • The Transit e-Visa is valid for 7 days after arrival in Zambia.

  • A proof of accommodation is required to obtain the travel document. The dates in this document MUST match the travel dates selected in the application. This is a requirement that is demanded by the government in order to issue the travel document.

  • Failure to enter within this period renders your e-Visa Approval Letter invalid, and thus you will you will have to apply again.
