Learn More: eVisa

The Republic of Zambia, more specifically the Ministry of Home Affairs (Department of Immigration), launched the e-Visa system in October 2015. The electronic visa (e-Visa) is an online system for applying for a visa to Zambia. Travelers who ordinarily require a visa to come to Zambia are eligible to apply through this procedure after submitting the required information and payment.

iVisa offers a fast and simple solution to obtaining your Zambian e-Visa. Travelers fill out an online application and are sent an electronic Visa on Arrival Tourist Letter. The immigration official upon arrival can look up the letter on their system, but we highly recommend that travelers print out the document. Upon presentation of the letter, the immigration official will provide the visa at the airport. It is all a very simple process.

  • Cover Letter

  • Last Page of Passport (if applicable)

Going to Africa is usually a reason for exploring the wild and watching the wildlife. It goes the same for Zambia. In fact, the number one reason why people go to Zambia is the safaris. This beautiful African country is the home for thousands of wild animals, and you get to experience wonder as well as fear. Taking a trip there entails some research because there may be a lot of things you do not know about Zambia. Actually, this goes for every new destination you want to visit, which is why this article should be of immense help. As for when is the best time to go to Zambia, there is no strict rule. You must choose between the wet and the dry season, but no matter which season you pick, you will still be hot. The dilemma is if you want to be warm or warm and wet. Even so, the seasons affect the position of the animals since they migrate for food and water. However, depending on when you choose to take your trip to Zambia, you should select a particular area in Zambia. That way you can see as many animals as possible. As mentioned above, the primary reason why people choose Zambia as their travel destination is the safaris. You get to see a lot of animals like lions, zebras, and the list can go on and on. However, it is of the utmost importance that you follow one rule, and that is to always listen to your driver or your guide. They have experience in the matter, and what they say goes. You do not have to complain or argue, and any decision he may take is not up for debate. After all, he has been doing this for quite some time, and one of his jobs is to keep you alive. That’s right! People die when they do not do what they are told on a safari. A hungry lion and a silly person who thinks that going out of the car for a picture is okay….you do the math. You should also never try to touch the animals. You may think that zebras are nice, and they are herbivores so they cannot eat you. You may be right, but they still have the means of turning you into a poster if something upsets them. So do whatever the driver or the tour guide tells you, and you should be entirely safe. No matter how tempting it may be, never get out of the car. After all, that is the animals’ turf, and if they eat you, nobody is reliable other than yourself. Leaving the animal kingdom aside, you may be wondering if it is safe to go to Zambia. The answer is a definite yes. However, some caution is necessary. As a tourist, you will not be subjected to car theft or any other serious crime. In fact, the crime rate in Zambia among tourists is very low. Even so, as a woman, for example, it is not recommended that you go out alone at night. Zambia may be safe, but petty crimes happen everywhere, so why would Zambia be any different? When you go out, and you want to buy things, it would be best if you did not carry all your money on you. Zambia is a cash-based society, so you need to have a lot of cash during your trip. However, if you are trying to buy something and someone else sees how you are looking for the right amount in your wallet full of money, you may be the victim of theft. Just take some of the cash and leave the rest in a safe place. Communication in Zambia should not be a problem. Believe it or not, the official language in Zambia is English. But that works out for the best since there are a lot of tourists there all year round. Zambia is not known for its cuisine. In fact, the food they serve is plain. However, there are resorts that serve Western food so that you do not miss the food at home. Lodges, on the other hand, serve food, but do not expect too much. Tap water, on the other hand, should be avoided. Some people claim that they have drunk it and they are fine. While that can apply to you as well, others get nasty parasites from it. The best thing you could do is stick to the bottled water. It is safer that way. When it comes to transportation, you should express caution. That is because some taxi drivers are not as honest as others. What you can do in this situation is have the hotel you are staying at call a cab for you. They usually work with good drivers, and you can trust them more than the ones you find on the streets. In Zambia, there is no specific dress code, but you will not see women wearing very tight or short skirts on the street. If you want to avoid glances, you should probably do the same. Zambia also has a nightlife that you can enjoy. You can go to bars and have a few drinks. There are a lot of drunks on the street, unfortunately, which is why you should never go to a bar alone as a woman. Also, if you are a man, you should probably know that if you offer a drink to a woman, it means that you proposition sex. It is up to you whether or not you mean it. To be honest, the best part of Zambia is the animals. There is no other valid reason why anyone would go there. The lodges in the middle of nowhere are stunning, and you will feel isolated. But that is a good feeling. Although you should be careful at night when you use the bathroom. An angry hippo can come out of nowhere, and things can end up badly. Even so, as long as you are cautious, you should have a great experience in Zambia.
