It is an administrative requirement for all foreign arrivals, meant to speed up immigration. Failing to submit the TDAC within the 72-hour window before arrival can mean denied boarding by your airline or long delays at Thai immigration.

Once your application is processed, you will receive an email containing a PDF confirmation and a unique QR code. You do not need a physical sticker; simply show the QR code on your mobile device or a printed copy to the immigration officer upon arrival. The Digital Arrival Card doesn't set your length of stay - it's an entry registration. Your permitted stay depends on your nationality's rules. Most visa-exempt travelers may stay up to 60 days per entry, and for arrivals from September 15, 2026 that drops to 30 days for most nationalities, including US citizens. To stay longer, apply for an extension at a local Thai immigration office.

The Thai government requires the card to be submitted in the 72 hours (3 days) before your arrival.
