![Saudi Arabia opens Umrah visa applications for new season]()
Saudi Arabia has started accepting Umrah visa applications for the upcoming 1448 AH season, with international pilgrims now able to begin their journeys to the Kingdom.
According to Gulf News, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that visa issuance and pilgrim arrivals commenced on May 31, 2026, following the conclusion of this year's Hajj.
Pilgrims can now enter Mecca and secure Umrah permits through the government's Nusuk application, which serves as the Kingdom's central digital hub for permits, bookings, and pilgrimage-related services.
Key dates for pilgrims
The ministry confirmed that March 9, 2027 (Shawwal 1, 1448 AH) will be the last day for obtaining Umrah visas. Pilgrims have until March 23, 2027, to enter Saudi Arabia, and all Umrah visitors must exit the country by April 7, 2027.
Saudi Arabia has been rapidly modernizing its Umrah services in recent years through the Nusuk platform. The system now features electronic permits, automated booking processes, and QR code verification for pilgrims. The Kingdom is also investing heavily in transport and accommodation infrastructure to handle increasing pilgrim numbers as part of its Vision 2030 goals.
