Visa questions, answered
The essentials on how visas, e-Visas, and iVisa work — before you start.
Still have questions?
Our visa experts are available 24/7 on chat, email, and WhatsApp.
What is the difference between an eVisa and a visa on arrival?
An eVisa is approved online before you travel — you apply, pay, and receive it by email, then present it at the border. A visa on arrival is issued at the airport or land crossing when you land. Many countries offer both; the eVisa is usually recommended because it confirms your entry before you fly and lets you skip the arrival queue.
Is iVisa a government website?
No. iVisa is an independent travel-document service, not a government agency. We prepare, review, and submit your application to the relevant government on your behalf, and support you throughout. The government makes the final decision on every application. You can always apply directly with a government yourself; travelers use iVisa for the expert review, simpler forms, and 24/7 support.
Do I actually need a visa for my trip?
It depends on your nationality, your destination, and how long you are staying. Use the finder at the top of this page — enter your passport and where you are going — and we will show you exactly which visa, e-Visa, or entry form you need, or tell you if none is required.
How far in advance should I apply?
Processing time varies by document, from minutes for some arrival cards to a couple of weeks for certain visas. We show the expected time on every product page and offer expedited options where the government allows. As a rule, apply as soon as your trip is booked to avoid last-minute stress.
What if my application is rejected?
Most rejections come from small errors — a typo in a passport number or a low-quality photo. Our expert review is designed to catch these before submission. If a government still declines an application, we help you understand why and reapply, and we offer optional denial protection at checkout on many products.
Can I apply for my whole family at once?
Yes. On most products you can add several travelers to a single application with the "Add another person" option, including infants and children, who generally need their own document. You complete one checkout for the group.
