The Barbados ED Card is our most popular travel document for this destination. We’ll guide you through any unclear questions during the application process.
The Barbados ED Card is mandatory for all travelers arriving by air. Even minor typos or formatting issues can delay your entry.

Don’t worry – we review your whole application to catch anything that might cause delays. One of our experts checks everything for errors or missing information to make sure it’s ready to go. This review is quick but thorough.
We’re not the government, but we submit your application to them and are here for you along the way if there are any problems.
We’ll email the approved ED Card and tell you how to use it for your trip.

💡Pro-tip: Digital copies are usually accepted, but some travelers report faster processing when showing a paper version.

Barbados maintains one of the most travel-friendly visa policies in the Caribbean. Visitors from the US, UK, EU, Canada, Australia, and many other countries do not need a tourist visa for stays of up to 90 or 180 days depending on nationality.

However, all air travelers must submit the Barbados ED Card online before boarding their flight. This applies to tourists, returning residents, and transiting passengers.

The ED Card functions as a combined immigration and customs declaration and collects essential health and travel details. It must be completed at least 72 hours before arrival and shown upon landing. Failing to present the ED Card can result in delays or denied entry.

If you’re planning to work remotely, you can apply for the Barbados Welcome Stamp, a separate visa that allows you to stay and work from the island for 12 months. Other visa types, like student or long-term work permits, require direct application through the Barbados Immigration Department and usually involve sponsorship or in-person appointments.

Overstaying in Barbados without a valid extension may result in fines or deportation. Always check the latest requirements before you travel, especially during peak seasons or public health updates.
Applying for a visa on your own can be confusing and time-consuming. iVisa simplifies the process, reduces errors, and gives you peace of mind
If you’re unclear, you can contact us on WhatsApp – we're available 24/7.
We’ll process your ED Card as fast as fastest processing speed.
For other visas, count on a couple of weeks at least, but check with the government for exact processing times.
If you're from a visa-required country (such as Haiti or the Dominican Republic), you must apply in advance through a Barbadian embassy. You'll need a valid passport, proof of accommodation, return ticket, and funds to support your stay. Processing takes 2–4 weeks.
Every traveler must also fill out the ED Card, even if you don’t need a visa.
For other visas and documents, you’ll need to complete the application process through the government, pay the visa fee, and in some cases, schedule an interview at a Barbados embassy or consulate.
Supporting documents like your passport, photo, and purpose of travel are required.
We then send it to the government for processing on your behalf.
Once your visa is approved, we’ll then email you your document.
In the meantime, download the iVisa app, so you can access your travel documents while you're on the go.
