Barbados ED Card requirements
All travelers are required to complete the Barbados Online Immigration and Customs Form (ED Card) before arriving in Barbados. This digital system is a mandatory requirement to clear immigration and customs, designed to streamline your entry at Grantley Adams International Airport. While the form can be completed at kiosks upon arrival, we highly recommend submitting it online in advance to avoid long wait times and ensure a smooth transition through the airport.

- Who it's for
- Every traveler arriving in Barbados, whatever their nationality and whether they are visiting or returning home. Visa-required nationalities still need a Barbados entry visa on top of it, because the declaration never replaces a visa.
- What it covers
- It satisfies the mandatory pre-arrival customs and immigration declaration. One universal form covers tourism, business, study, visiting family and returning residents alike, with no separate versions by purpose.
- How you travel
- It covers arrivals by air at Grantley Adams International Airport, cruise arrivals at Bridgetown Port, and private aircraft and yachts at Port St. Charles. Cruise passengers going ashore need one.
- Delivery format
- A digital receipt with a QR code, emailed as soon as you submit. Save it to your phone or print it to show at the airport.
- Good to know
- Every traveler needs their own entry, babies included, and a parent or guardian submits for them. A minor traveling without a parent or legal guardian needs a notarized consent letter naming the accompanying or receiving adult. The declaration covers one arrival, so each separate trip needs a new one.
- Validity
- Valid for 90 days
- Entry
- Single entry
- Length of stay
- Stay up to 90 days per entry
- Processing time
- Get it in as fast as 15 minutes

Ease of application, speed of delivery. Not sure why I need this though, after 25 visits to Barbados never needed before.
It was an easy application. This is an ED card not a visa application so do not understand why I was charged US$100.
Quick and easy upload of passport information for the application with a fast review and entry document received.
The process was not complicated. It was very simple to comply with the questions and fill out the form.
The access to the site was easy to manage and the questions easy and straight forward. It is the first time I have used this service to will wait to see if it simplifies our time at the airport in Barbados. Stay tuned. Rob
Not certain that I entered the travel information for the four of us correctly. Each entry had to accompany the three other traveler’s information and that seemed redundant having already entered the four travelers initially. However, getting into the country at the airport was very easy and quick by avoiding the kiosks.
The forms were very clear and straightforward. The whole process was streamlined and took only a few minutes.
As an American, I don’t need a visa for Barbados and yet you charged me for one. I want my money back ASAP.

The website is easy to use and gives the necessary direction to complete the application. The completed application was sent to me within a few hours and was accurate. Well worth the money!
Barbados visa FAQs

Still have questions?
Our visa experts are available 24/7 on chat, email, and WhatsApp.
Do I need a Barbados ED Card even if I don't need a visa?
Yes. The ED Card is a mandatory entry requirement for every person entering Barbados, regardless of whether you are from a visa-exempt country (such as the US, UK, Canada, or EU). It serves as your official immigration and customs declaration.
How will I receive the Barbados ED Card?
You will receive an Immigration and Customs receipt via email once the form is submitted. This receipt contains a summary of your declaration. You should save this document to your phone or print it out. Upon arrival at the airport, you will present this (or your passport) to the immigration officer or at the automated kiosks. If applied through iVisa, you can also find a copy of your ED Card in your dashboard.
How long can I stay in Barbados?
The length of stay depends on your nationality and the discretion of the Immigration officer. Standard tourists: Visitors from the US, UK, and Canada are typically granted a stay of up to 6 months. CARICOM Citizens: Usually granted 6 months upon entry in accordance with the Right of Entry. EU citizens: Generally allowed to stay for up to 3 months within a 6-month period. Extensions: If you wish to stay longer, you must apply for an extension of stay through the Barbados Immigration Department.
When should I apply for the ED Card?
The official Barbados government system only accepts submissions within 72 hours (3 days) before your arrival. If you apply through iVisa earlier than this, we will hold your application and submit it automatically as soon as the 72-hour window opens.
Do children/minors need a Barbados ED Card?
Yes. Every traveler, including infants and children, must be included in an ED Card submission. For minors under 18 traveling without both parents, it is also recommended to carry a notarized letter of consent to present to Immigration. You can use iVisa's 'Add another person' feature to easily manage applications for the whole family in one session, saving time and effort.
Can I reuse my Barbados ED Card?
No. It is for single entry only. You must complete a new Barbados ED Card registration every time you enter the country.
What happens if I forget to submit the form before arriving?
If you arrive without having completed the form online, you will be directed to one of the 70+ interactive kiosks in the arrivals hall at the Grantley Adams International Airport. While this is possible, it can lead to significant delays during peak travel times. Completing it in advance allows you to head straight to the immigration line.
