Do I need a Malaysia Digital Arrival Card even if I don't need a visa?

Yes. The MDAC is a mandatory entry requirement for almost all foreign visitors, including those from visa-exempt countries (like the US, UK, Australia, and EU nations). It is separate from your visa status.

Who is exempt from the MDAC?

According to the Immigration Department of Malaysia, the following travelers are exempt:

Citizens of Singapore
Diplomatic and Official passport holders

Thailand Border Pass holders

How will I receive the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card?

You will receive a confirmation PDF via email. You must present this (digitally or printed) to the immigration officer upon arrival. We recommend saving a copy to your phone for offline access.

How long can I stay in Malaysia?

The MDAC itself is not a stay permit. Your allowed duration of stay is determined by your nationality's visa-free allowance or the specific visa you hold. Most tourists are granted 30 or 90 days upon entry.
