Who can apply for the Japan eVisa?

The Japan eVisa is available for citizens of select countries. Currently, travelers from 127 nationalities can apply for the Japan eVisa if they are residents of Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Mongolia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, the UK, and the USA.

To verify your eligibility and check if you require a visa for Japan, you can use our convenient Visa Checker Tool, which provides up-to-date information based on your nationality and the purpose of your travel.

Other Japan visa options

If you do not qualify for the eVisa, you may need to apply for a different visa. Some options include:

  • Japan Tourist Visa for certain foreign nationals wanting to visit the country for tourism purposes. We offer a simplified online application for this visa as well.

  • Visa Exemption: Citizens of certain countries may be eligible for visa exemption, allowing them visa-free travel into Japan as part of the visa waiver program. The length of stay and conditions vary depending on the nationality. It's essential to check if your country is eligible for visa exemption and review the requirements and limitations.

  • Temporary Visitor Visa: This visa category is suitable for individuals visiting Japan for tourism, sightseeing, or visiting friends and relatives. It allows a stay of up to 90 days.

  5. Be Punctual and Polite: Arrive on time for the interview and be respectful and courteous towards the embassy or consulate staff. Follow their instructions and answer questions truthfully and clearly.
