Thinking about a trip to Japan from Colombia? We've got your visa application covered.

Applying for a visa can be a bit of a challenge, but it shouldn't keep you from your dream of exploring Japan. We're here to make this necessary step easier for you.

Fill me in

Let us handle the visa details so you can plan the fun parts of your trip, like strolling under the cherry blossoms in Tokyo, visiting Kyoto's ancient temples, or wandering through the bustling fish markets of Fukuoka. Let’s get started.

Do Colombian citizens need a Japan Tourist Visa?

Colombians planning a trip to Japan must get a visa before entering the country.

If you’re a legal resident in one of the following countries, you can apply for a Japan eVisa: Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, or USA. The eVisa can only be used for tourism, and you must enter Japan by air.

However, if your place of residence is Colombia or you want to travel to Japan for reasons other than tourism, you’ll need to apply for a Japan Tourist Visa instead.

Currently, we only handle single-entry visa applications, which allows for a stay of 15 or 30 days and is valid for three months. If you want a multiple-entry tourist visa with a validity of up to 5 years, please check out the Embassy of Japan in Colombia website for more information on how to apply.

How to apply for a Japan Tourist Visa from Colombia with us

We offer a Japan Visa service that handles visa applications. You’ll have access to a simplified application form that’s easy to fill out and understand (you’ll be done in less than 15 minutes!).

Our team of visa experts will review your application once you’re done to make sure it’s correctly filled and free from mistakes, thus increasing your chances of visa approval.

Here’s how to apply:

  • Step 1: Go to our website or download the iVisa app to start your visa application. Enter your personal and travel details.

  • Step 2: Verify that all your information is accurate. Pay the service fee with a credit or debit card, PayPal, or Venmo. Once your payment is received, we’ll send you a guide to help you complete the rest of the application process.

  • Step 3: Finish filling out the application form and upload the required documents.

  • Step 4: Submit your visa application and documents to the consular section of the Japanese embassy, where you’ll also pay the visa fee. You don’t need an appointment.

Once your application has been processed, you’ll be informed when to collect your passport. If your application is successful, the visa will be affixed to your passport.

When you arrive in Japan, an immigration officer will inspect your Japan Tourist Visa and the supporting documents to verify the purpose of your visit. They will then stamp your passport with a Landing Permit, which replaces the visa.
