Who it's for
Everyone flying into Jamaica, visitors and residents alike. It is not a visa: depending on your nationality you may need both this declaration and a visa from a Jamaican consulate, and this form never replaces the visa.
What it covers
Your immigration entry details and your customs declaration in one electronic record. You choose a purpose of visit from the government's own list, which covers vacation, visiting friends or relatives, business or a meeting, transit, a honeymoon or wedding, work, and returning residents.
How you travel
The online form is built around air arrivals: it asks for your airline, flight number, departure port, and travel date. Cruise and ferry passengers are declared through the cruise line or at the seaport instead. Transit passengers who clear immigration file the same declaration.
Delivery format
A confirmation email with a QR code, which you can show on your phone or bring printed. There is no physical document to collect.
Good to know
It covers one arrival and cannot be extended, so you file again for your next trip. A spouse and children under 18 traveling with you can be listed on your declaration rather than filing their own. You will need your passport number, your address in Jamaica, the countries you have visited, and your customs answers. No photo or uploads are required.

Jamaica visa FAQs

Quick answers to the most common questions about the Jamaica C5 Form.

Still have questions?

Our visa experts are available 24/7 on chat, email, and WhatsApp.

Do I need a Jamaica C5 Form even if I don't need a visa?

Yes. The C5 Form is an immigration and customs declaration, not a visa. It is mandatory for everyone, including Jamaican citizens, residents, and visa-exempt tourists (like those from the US, UK, or Canada), entering the country by air.

Do I need a visa for Jamaica?

It depends on your nationality. Visa-free: Citizens of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and many Commonwealth/CARICOM countries can enter Jamaica for tourism without a visa (usually for up to 90 days). Visa required: Citizens of certain countries in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East must apply for a visa through a Jamaican consulate prior to travel. C5 Form requirement: Regardless of visa status, the C5 Form is mandatory for all air passengers.

How will I receive the Jamaica C5 Form?

You will receive a confirmation receipt containing a QR code via email. You must show this QR code to the immigration officer at the airport. You can present it on your phone or as a printed document. Official government advice suggests taking a screenshot of the QR code/confirmation page in case you have trouble accessing your email upon landing. You can also find a copy of your C5 Form QR code and confirmation in your iVisa dashboard if applied through us.

How long can I stay in Jamaica?

It depends on your nationality and the discretion of the immigration officer. You are typically granted a stay of up to 90 days upon arrival. Note: The actual date you must leave will be stamped in your passport by an officer at the airport. You must apply for any extension before this date expires to avoid penalties or being in breach of immigration laws.

Can I extend my stay in Jamaica?

If you wish to stay longer, you can apply for an extension through the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) in Jamaica. Commonwealth citizens can be granted a maximum total stay of up to 12 months as a visitor. Non-Commonwealth citizens can be granted a maximum total stay of up to 6 months as a visitor.

When should I apply for the C5 Form?

The Jamaica Immigration Service portal allows submissions up to 30 days before arrival or departure. We recommend submitting your details to iVisa ahead of time so we can process it as soon as the window opens.

Do children/minors need a Jamaica C5 Form?

Yes. Every traveler, regardless of age, must have their own completed declaration. Parents or guardians can complete the form on behalf of minors. You can use iVisa's 'Add another person' feature to easily manage applications for the whole family in one session, saving time and effort.

Can I reuse my Jamaica C5 Form?

No. It is for single entry/exit only. You must complete a new Jamaica C5 Form registration every time you enter the country.

What happens if I forget to submit the form before arriving?

While there are digital kiosks available at Sangster International (MBJ) and Norman Manley International (KIN) airports, using them can cause significant delays due to queueing. Completing the form before you board your flight is highly recommended to avoid long wait times in the terminal.

iVisa vs. the official Jamaica process

Why travelers choose iVisa

On your own

  • The official form validates little beyond whether a required field is filled, so a typo or a passport mismatch goes through unnoticed.
  • Search results are crowded with look-alike sites, which makes it hard to tell what you are filling in.
  • One speed, with no option to move faster when your flight is close.
  • No live chat or phone support on the portal, and several of its footer links lead nowhere.
  • We review your details before submission and flag the mismatches that cause problems at the border.
  • One place to complete it, with your record kept in your account.
  • Choose a faster handling option when you are filing close to departure.
  • Support around the clock while you fill it in.
