Who it's for
Travelers from eligible countries going to Azerbaijan for commercial reasons. Azerbaijan issues one electronic visa and you declare the purpose on the form, so the business route differs from the tourist one mainly in the supporting document you attach.
Permitted activities
Business meetings, conferences, trade fairs, contract negotiations, site visits and similar commercial activities. The declared purpose has to match what you actually do. It does not authorize paid local employment, which requires a work permit and residence instead.
How you travel
The electronic visa is accepted at air, sea and land border checkpoints. You do not need one to stay inside an airport's international transit area, but you do the moment you leave it.
Delivery format
A machine-readable PDF emailed to you and printable on A4. Carry it with you on arrival, and make sure your passport details match it exactly.
Good to know
It is single-entry, so a second trip means a fresh application, and it cannot be extended. Every child needs their own visa against their own passport, with no age exemption, and a parent or guardian submits for them. A company invitation letter is not mandatory but helps evidence the business purpose.
Validity
Valid for 90 days
Entry
Single entry
Length of stay
Stay up to 30 days per entry
Processing time

Azerbaijan visa FAQs

Quick answers to the most common questions about the Azerbaijan Business eVisa.

Still have questions?

Our visa experts are available 24/7 on chat, email, and WhatsApp.

Do I need an Azerbaijan visa?

Most nationalities require a visa to enter Azerbaijan. Citizens of approximately 95 countries (including the US, UK, and EU nations) are eligible for the ASAN eVisa (Azerbaijan Tourism or Business eVisa). Citizens of select countries (such as Russia, Turkey, and some CIS nations) enjoy visa-free entry for stays up to 90 days. Additionally, a 2026 pilot program allows citizens of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain to enter visa-free for up to 30 days (up to three times per year). Use our visa checker for specific rules regarding your nationality.

How will I receive the Azerbaijan Business eVisa?

You will receive your approved eVisa as a PDF document via email. While you can show a digital copy on your phone, it is highly recommended to print a copy to show to border officials at Heydar Aliyev International Airport. You can also find a digital copy in your iVisa dashboard if you applied through us.

Can I use the Azerbaijan Business eVisa to visit the entire country?

Travel to areas near the Armenian border or former conflict zones is strictly regulated. Crucial note: If your passport shows evidence of a previous visit to the Nagorno-Karabakh region without Azerbaijani permission, you will be denied entry and potentially blacklisted.

How long can I stay in Azerbaijan with an eVisa?

The eVisa allows for a maximum stay of 30 days. The visa is valid for 90 days from the date it is issued. You must enter and exit Azerbaijan within this 90-day window, ensuring your total stay does not exceed 30 days.

Can I extend my stay in Azerbaijan?

No. The eVisa cannot be extended online. If you wish to stay longer than 30 days, you must apply for a temporary residence permit or an extension through the State Migration Service in Baku at least 48 hours before your visa expires.

Do I need to register with the authorities?

Yes, if you plan to stay in Azerbaijan for more than 15 days, you must register your place of stay with the State Migration Service. Most hotels do this automatically, but if you are staying in an Airbnb or private home, you must ensure the host registers you online or at a migration office to avoid a fine (approx. $200–$300) upon departure.

How long does Azerbaijan Business eVisa processing take?

The official government processing time is typically up to 5 business days. With iVisa, you choose your processing speed at checkout, and the option you pick is shown with its delivery time before you pay.

What happens if I overstay my Azerbaijan visa?

Overstaying is a serious violation. You will be fined upon departure and may be banned from entering Azerbaijan for a period of 1 to 5 years.

What happens if my Azerbaijan Business eVisa application is denied?

The most common reason for denial is incorrect passport information. At iVisa, we help you avoid this issue with expert review, ensuring your information is correct and meets the government requirements the first time. iVisa also offers optional denial protection.

Why travelers choose iVisa

On your own

  • The official portal gives no guidance distinguishing what a business trip needs from what a tourist trip needs, so you work out the supporting documents yourself.
  • Passport mismatches are a common cause of problems, and the government's own fee is not refunded if the visa is later invalidated by one.
  • A single web feedback form, with no phone number and no live chat published.
  • No account is needed to begin, but you are on your own once the form opens.
  • A guided checklist built for the business purpose, including the invitation letter that helps evidence it.
  • We review your passport and personal details before submission, so a mismatch is caught while it still costs nothing.
  • Real people you can reach by chat, WhatsApp, phone and email while your application is open.
  • No account either, and the questions are explained as you answer them.
