Armenia visa policy

Armenia’s visa system is designed to accommodate short-term visits, long stays, and long-term immigration based on nationality and purpose of visit.

Travelers from more than 45 countries, including most CIS nations, the EU, UAE, and several Asian countries, can enter Armenia visa-free for up to 180 days per calendar year.

If you’re not visa-exempt, you may be eligible for the Armenia eVisa. This fast, online application offers two stay durations: 21 days or 120 days, depending on your nationality. The eVisa is valid for a single entry and is used for tourism, business, or short visits.

For longer stays, employment, or full-time study, travelers must apply for an embassy-issued visa or residence permit. These applications require more documentation and take longer to process.

You must enter through an authorized entry point, most commonly Zvartnots International Airport or Shirak Airport. Your passport must be valid for at least six months after your arrival.

Overstaying your visa without proper authorization may lead to fines, deportation, or entry bans.

FAQs

This depends on the visa you’re issued. An eVisa is valid for 90 days from the date of issue. You must enter Armenia within that time. Once you arrive, you can stay for either 21 days or 120 days, depending on which option you selected.

If you’re unclear, you can contact us on WhatsApp – we're available 24/7.

Standard processing takes 3–5 business days, but iVisa offers rush and super rush options for an extra fee. You’ll see exact timelines and prices at checkout.

We’ll process your eTA as fast as possible.

  • The 21-day eVisa is meant for short trips, like a holiday, short conference, or attending an event.

  • The 120-day visa is for longer travel, such as extended tourism, short-term study, or health treatments.

Some nationalities only qualify for one or the other — we’ll automatically show the correct option for you during the application.

You can apply for your eVisa through the government or iVisa (or download our mobile app).

For other visas, you’ll need to complete the application process on the government platform, pay the visa fee, and in some cases, schedule an interview at an Armenian embassy or consulate.

Supporting documents like your passport, photo, and purpose of travel are required.

No. The eVisa does not allow any form of paid work or freelance services, even remotely, for an Armenian company. To work legally in Armenia, you must have a job offer and apply for a work visa and work permit.

Yes, in limited cases. You must apply through the Armenian Police Passport and Visa Department before your visa expires. Extensions are granted for reasons like health emergencies or force majeure, but not for general travel.

Overstaying may result in:

  • A fine at the airport or land border
  • A temporary ban from re-entering Armenia
  • Future visa applications being rejected

We strongly recommend applying for an extension if needed, or leaving before your authorized stay ends.

No. The eVisa is single-entry only. If you leave Armenia, you’ll need to apply for a new visa before returning.

Our team of iVisa experts will review your documents to make sure you have the best chance of being approved.

We then send it to the government for processing on your behalf.

Once your visa is approved, we’ll then email you your document.

In the meantime, download the iVisa app, so you can access your travel documents while you're on the go.
