Kazakhstan’s visa policy includes a wide range of options depending on your nationality, the purpose of your visit, and how long you plan to stay. Citizens of many countries, including the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and several others, can travel to Kazakhstan without a visa for short stays. Visa-free entry typically allows travelers to stay in Kazakhstan for up to 30 days per visit, and in some cases up to 90 days.
Nationals of other countries must apply for a visa before arrival. Kazakhstan offers an eVisa for citizens of over 100 countries for tourism, business, or medical treatment. The eVisa is valid for up to 30 or 90 days, depending on visa type, and is only valid for entry through the Almaty and Astana (Nursultan) international airports.
Kazakhstan also issues sticker visas through embassies and consulates for purposes such as business, work, study, family reunification, investment, transit, or long-term residence.
Before applying, always consult the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan or the Visa-Migration Portal for the latest visa rules, application forms, and official guidelines.
