Bahrain offers a Visa on Arrival for citizens of over 65 countries, including the US, Canada, the UK, EU member states, Australia, and Japan, for stays ranging from 14 to 30 days. However, it's preferred to apply for the Bahrain Tourist eVisa in advance to avoid queues and have peace of mind before your go.
Citizens of GCC countries (Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE) do not require a visa and may enter using a national ID card.
General Bahrain visa requirements are:
Passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival and at least one blank page
Recent passport photo
Travel details (such as a confirmed return or onward flight ticket and accommodation address/hotel booking)
Proof of sufficient financial means (such as a bank statement from the last three months with a minimum balance of $1,000)
Additional supporting documents depending on visa type (e.g., a letter of invitation for a Business eVisa or a CPR copy of a relative for a Family Visit Visa)

During peak travel seasons or public holidays in Bahrain, processing may take slightly longer. It’s always a good idea to apply at least a week in advance to avoid unexpected delays.
Rules often change without advance notice, and travelers report occasional long queues or complications.
Extensions are handled by the NPRA and may require you to visit their office in Bahrain or complete the process online, depending on your visa type. Extensions are generally granted in 14- or 30-day increments and may come with additional fees.
If you overstay your visa without applying for an extension, you risk fines or complications with future travel to Bahrain or the wider Gulf region.
