Bahraini visa policy for Indian citizens

Indian citizens usually need a visa to visit Bahrain for short stays (tourism or business trips) and for long-stay travel (work, education, etc.). Short-stay visas can be applied for online, but long-stay visas require an application at an embassy or consulate.

iVisa offers two Bahrain entry documents for Indian travelers:

  • Bahrain multiple-entry Tourist eVisa: This document allows Indian citizens multiple entries into Bahrain with a validity period of 90 days from arrival. The maximum number of days Indian travelers can stay in Bahrain with this document is 30 days.

  • Bahrain single-entry Tourist eVisa: This document allows Indian citizens a single entry into Bahrain with a validity period of 30 days from arrival. The maximum number of days Indian travelers can stay in Bahrain with this document is 14 days.

General Bahrain visa requirements for Indian travelers are:

  • Indian passport valid for at least six months
  • Passport-size photo
  • Trip details
  • Bank statements (recent 3 months)

FAQs

  • Bahrain Tourist eVisa: Travelers can apply entirely online. Common options include a 14-day single-entry or a 30-day multiple-entry visa. Processing typically takes 3–5 working days.

  • Visa on Arrival: This is available at the airport for stays up to 14 days, but typically only if you hold a valid visa or residence permit from the US, UK, Schengen area, or a GCC country.

However, it is recommended to apply at least 2 weeks before your intended travel date to account for potential delays, such as public holidays, weekends (Friday and Saturday in Bahrain), or requests for additional documentation.

With iVisa, you can get your Bahrain Tourist eVisa in as little as 4 days, depending on your eligibility and documentation.

[collapse-start]Do Indian citizens need a visa when transiting through Bahrain? The duration an Indian national can stay in Bahrain depends on the specific visa type chosen. For tourism, the most common stay limits are:

Common Tourism Stay Durations

  • 14 Days (Single Entry): This is the standard short-term eVisa or Visa on Arrival. It allows you to stay for a maximum of 14 days from the date of entry.
  • 30 Days (Multiple Entry): This eVisa is typically valid for 3 months, allowing you to enter multiple times, with each individual stay limited to 30 days.
  • 90 Days (Long-term Multiple Entry): A 1-year multiple-entry visa is also available, which allows for stays of up to 90 days per visit.

How to Extend

  • Online: Use the official Bahrain national portal or the eVisa website. This is the most convenient method and can be done entirely from your phone or laptop.

  • In-Person: Visit the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) office. It is recommended to book an appointment beforehand using the "Mawaeid" or "Skiplino" apps.
