Nationals of over 95 countries, including the US, UK, EU states, Canada, and Australia, can enter Qatar visa-free for stays of up to 30 or 90 days, depending on nationality. These visa-free stays cannot be extended beyond their allowed period, and travelers must exit before expiry to avoid penalties. For travelers from visa-required countries, the Qatar Tourist eVisa (Hayya A1) allows a 30-day stay within 90 days of issuance, with the option to extend once for an additional 30 days.
Qatar also offers specialized electronic visas through the Hayya Portal, including the GCC Resident Visa (A2), Visa with ETA (A3), and Visa for Companions of GCC Citizens (A4). These allow eligible travelers to apply online, often receiving approval within a few days, simplifying entry procedures and reducing time at immigration counters upon arrival.
For longer stays or specialized travel purposes, Qatar uses a sponsor-based visa system managed by the Ministry of Interior. Employers, educational institutions, family members, and registered entities in Qatar can sponsor visas for work, family residence, student programs, business travel, and investment. These applications require submission through the relevant government channels, and once approved, the visa is issued for entry and subsequent residence permit processing within Qatar.
Travelers should always check Qatar’s official government portals, the Hayya Portal, or consult with a Qatari embassy to confirm the latest visa requirements before making travel plans.
Applying for a visa on your own can be confusing and time-consuming. iVisa simplifies the process, reduces errors, and gives you peace of mind
